Chapter 724 Ignite Jealousy and Change His Mind
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
Xavia was dressed in a pastel pink jacket paired with white knee-high boots. Her face mask
concealed most of her features. Only her exquisite and mysterious eyes that enticed curiosity could
be seen.
Kenneth felt a surge of concern for her and remarked, "Your eyelashes are frosted over. Cover
yourself up more next time."
"Itâs all right, I'm fine. We were in the car the whole time, and I'm wearing a down jacket. It's not that
cold.â
âOkay, next time I'll stop the car closer so that you don't have to walk so far.â
Xavia started tearing up as she looked at him. Kenneth panicked and quickly handed her a tissue.
"What's wrong? Did I say something wrong?"
"No one has ever treated me this kindly. You're the first.â
Kenneth paused for a moment, then responded with overwhelming tenderness, "I'll always treat you
this way, Vee."
"Really?"
"Of course, I promise.â
Xavia blushed and gently linked her arm with his, saying, "Let's eat."
"Sure," Kenneth smiled, nodding as they followed the waiter to the table next to Chloe's.
Xavia did not notice Chloe at first, but as she put down her bag, their eyes met.
Chloe greeted her with a mischievous grin and said, "Hi."
Xaviaâs eyes widened, and her gentle voice turned sharp as she squeaked, "Why are you here? Are
you following me?"
"I'm not. Who has time for that?"
"Nonsense. You must have planned this."
"Believe what you want. Not everyone thinks the same way as you do."
Xavia's face twisted in a mix of guilt and resentment as her palms grew sweaty. She had received a
scolding from Megan yesterday for no reason. In her mind, everything was Chloe's fault.
Kenneth intervened, his expression serious and imposing like a true royal. "Vee, whoâs this?" He
had read about rumors of Chloe online and wanted to speak up for Xavia.
Chloe's smile deepened as she casually replied, "Oh, I've known your Vee for many years. We met
when she was together with Joseph."
"Thatâs all in the past. I hope you won't bring it up again and try to drive a wedge between Vee and
me, Ms. Chloe. I won't go easy on you just because youâre a woman."
"Apologies, but I'm not interested," Chloe calmly retorted, facing him head-on.
Kenneth's tone turned icy, "If you weren't interested, you wouldn't cause a scene."
"As a prince of the royal family, isn't it a bit unsightly for you to be speaking this way?" Frieda stood
up, her voice strong and resolute. She stared at Kenneth without flinching.
The others were surprised by Frieda's unexpected support for their manager. What was going on?
Frieda was standing up for Chloe?
Chloe paused for a moment, feeling a little dazed but grateful that someone was speaking up for
her.
"Frieda, don't worry about me. Please, have a seat and enjoy the meal," Chloe assured her,
knowing that Kenneth's social status was different from ordinary people's. She did not want to
burden Frieda.
"How about we find another place to eat?" Xavia suggested to Kenneth, âIt doesnât bring any good
to cause a scene in public. I wouldn't want to put you in an awkward position.â
And she could not risk Chloe suddenly revealing something that might tarnish her reputation.
Completing the task and not disappointing Cyrus was crucial. Moreover, she entertained the
possibility that if Joseph saw her with Kenneth, it would ignite his jealousy and potentially change
his mind.
Kenneth was reluctant to let the matter slide so easily, but when he saw Xavia's pleading eyes, he
could not bear to push the matter further and agreed to leave.
As the pair left, Frieda comforted Chloe, "Don't mind them. You did nothing wrong."
Nodding while savoring her steak, Chloe replied, "Of course, I know I did nothing wrong. Frieda,
please eat. The dishes are getting cold."
Xavia's presence had not affected Chloeâs mood, and she was not foolish enough to confront Xavia
in front of Kenneth. She simply wanted to provoke her a little.
After dinner, Chloe drove to the cafe where she had arranged to meet Joseph. In a private room,
Callum heard a knock on the door and immediately got up to answer it. She gazed at the middle-
aged man before her, his gentle smile capturing her attention. She then glanced at Joseph with a
look of puzzlement on her face.
