Chapter 544 He’s Going to Counterattack

Chloe’s eyes became watery. “Grandpa loves you very much. He suffered in silence for so many

years.”

Harold had lost his eldest son and wife at the midpoint of his life. The schemes and fights in the family,

‘Cyrus. Otto. A game is about to start. Are you guys up for it?’

He wanted to make a counterattack.

Over the next two days, Chloe settled the trivial affairs of the Johnson Group before it was the day for

her to set off for Estre. After boarding the plane, she switched off her phone.

It was a gloomy and cloudy day with light drizzle. The raindrops splattered on the plane’s window,

blurring the scenery outside. She felt that it was just like her fuzzy future.

For an unknown reason, a sense of dread hung over her. Sitting beside her, Abigail was eagerly

flipping through an Estrenian magazine.

At a glance, Chloe could tell Abigail’s thoughts. “Do you want to visit those places?”

“No, I don’t.”

“Then why are you reading about them?”

A rare tinge of embarrassment flashed across Abigail’s usually aloof face. “I don’t have any friends.

Whenever I have time off, I stay home and watch TV dramas. I love Estrenian dramas. I think that the

landscape and scenery there are beautiful. What’s more, the people there are

bold and enthusiastic in their love affairs. It makes one yearn for it.”

Chloe patted her shoulders. “I’ll take you sightseeing when we get there.”

“No, my mission is to protect you.”

When Chloe saw Abigail’s resolute expression, she realized that those who worked for Joseph were

responsible people, just like Lucas. Even when worked to the point of exhaustion, they stuck firmly to

their tasks.

When they woke up, they arrived at the romantic city.

Chloe and Abigail checked into a hotel.

“Have you been to Estre before?” Chloe asked while unpacking her luggage.

Abigail shook her head. “No, I’ve never been abroad.”

“You should visit the Epal Tower, the Holy Heart Church, and the Cyen River.”

“My duty is to protect you, Ms. Chloe. I’m not here for a vacation.”

Abigail was loyal and firm in not crossing the boundary.

“Who said you were going alone? You’re going with me.” Tilting her head, Chloe smiled mischievously

at Abigail. “I want to bring home some gifts, and I’ll be very busy in a few days’

time.”

Abigail nodded enthusiastically. “Okay, we’ll go together.”

After checking the time, Chloe found that it was between five and six in the evening. She decided to

take Abigail to Cyen River, and they would have dinner there too. Chloe took a photo with Abigail

beside the river before sending it to Joseph.

Joseph was on his way back from a business trip. Sitting in the spacious back seat, he closed his eyes

to rest.

“Sir, we’ve got something on Dr. Spencer. It’s been a long time since his daughter and wife

have appeared in public. He claims that they were with his wife’s family, but the investigation. shows

that they’re not,” Joseph reported the latest information he had received.
