Chapter 16

I sighed as Jackson shook his head. He sent me a pitying smile as he put away stacks of paper.

It had been a week. A week since I've seen my mates beautiful face, heard her soft voice and I missed her... hell I craved her.

After her mothers visit she locked herself away. She only came out to take the twins to their practices, but she never talked to anybody. Not me, not Jake and not her friend Quin. The only person she let in was Jackson.

"Don't worry Alpha Caleb, she'll come around. She's going through somw things right now." He frowned as he shook his head.

"What kind of things?" I demanded crossing my arms over my chest. I would've felt it if She was hurt or afriad, we are mates!

'But she isn't marked anymore' my wolf whimpered.

I hissed and rubbed the back of my neck. He's right she isn't and It killed me. I just wanted her back. I admit I was cruel to her before but she's my mate! We're destined to be together!

"Alpha I'm sorry but I can't tell you. Thats for her to tell you." He glared at me as he roughly shut his laptop and moved around his office.

My eyebrow shot up in suprise as the always obident doc refused to cooperate with me. That's a first. But then again he has a strange relationship with my beautiful mate.

My wolf growled at the thought of my mate with another wolf. But I quickly remembered he was happily married with Avery. Plus he's as old as her father.

That settled my wolf, slightly.

"But I'm asking YOU." I chuckled shaking my head. "Listen if you ever want to win Ariana back I suggest you stop being so arrogant and show her you've changed." He hissed grabbing his coat and roughly putting it on.

"And I suggest you be careful with the words you speak to your Alpha. " I hissed as anger pulsed through me. I was in charge here not him! I am the Alpha of this pack and nobody tells me what to do!

"Pardon me Alpha." He spat. "All I'm saying is the way you're heading you'll never win her back." He shook his head before walking out the door and slamming it behind him.

I growled and threw off the medicines from the table and kicked his desk making it crumble down along with his papers. How dare he!

My vision fogged with anger until I realized something. He changed the subject. I let out another fierce growl as I punched the wall behind me making a huge whole. I needed to see Ariana, now!

I roughly opened the door making it break off its hinges. I groaned and put it against the wall and made my way out of the pack house.

'Clean up the docs office.' I mindlinked to Maggie. She was pracrically the maid of the pack house.

As soon as I made it out to the forest I stripped and closed my eyes feeling the familar tingle run down my spine as my bones rearranged themselves. Once I opened my eyes everything was so much clearer and I was on four.

I shook my midnight black fur before taking off towards Ari's house, making sure to pick up my clothes into my mouth.

Five minutes later, I made my way out of the forest-fully clothed. I sighed and strained my ears to hear. I could hear one heart beat, Ari. But there was something else...... she was crying.

I cringed and intinctly ran to the door knocking fiercly on her door.

Everything in my body was yelling at me to comfort her and it didn't help that my wolf was making scenarios as to why our mate was crying.

I could hear her sniffling as she made her way to the door. My heart broke as I took in my mate with red rimmed eyes, flushed cheeks and the glimmer of happiness gone from her emerald eyes. She looked broken and lost.

"Ari baby." I sighed as I instinctively crushed her to my chest calming my worrying wolf and myself. I could feel her wolf slightly calming as well.

Her shoulders shook as new tears broke through her body. I gently picked her up bridal style and walked in shutting the door behind me with my foot.

She clutched onto my shirt as sobs racked through her small body making me want to cry as well. I hated seeing my mate so ... so ... broken. This isn't her.

I gently laid her on her bed and laid next to her pulling her into my chest. Our bodies molded together reminding me how much she was right for me.

I rubbed soothing circles on her hip and kissed her forehead before hughing her tightly. "It'll be alright babe." I whispered.

Half an hour later her sobs turned into hiccups until finally she was just softly breathing down my neck. I figured she fell asleep and kissed her head.

"I'm sorry for everything I've put you and the twins through love." I muttered pulling her slim body even closer to my own.

"I forgive you." I stared wide eyed as she untucked her head from my neck and leaned up to kiss my cheek. I shivered as the shock ran down my body as my wolf purred in content. I had missed that feeling.

Then she was gone. Shr quickly untangled herself from me before crawling off the bed.

My wolf whimpered at the space and growled at me to pull her back, and that's exactly what I did. A small gasp escaped her lips as her body fell on top of mine.

"Caleb let go." She sighed pushing away from my chest. I groaned as she accidentally rubbed up against my... ahem member.

I quickly twisted us so she was under. I quickly pinned her legs with my own and pinned her wirst above her head with one hand.

"Ariana what's wrong?" I asked staring at her wide emerald eyes. "Let go Caleb." She hissed glaring up at me.

"Not until you tell me what's wrong love." Her eyes flashed with anger and thrashed against my hold. "Let go! Why do you even care! Don't you have a wedding to plan?" She sneered.

I groaned and shook my head. "You never let me explain!" I hissed.

"Explain what? How you chose sarah the packs slut over me your mate and your children!" She hissed as her eyes rimmed with unshed tears.

"I never chose her!" I yelled raising my voice

"Then why are you engaged Caleb!" She yelled right back as a tear slipped down her rosy cheeks making me feel horrible.

"You're still the same pathetic guy from high school! All you do is play with peoples feelings. The only good thing that came from you was MY twins, if it wasn't for that I wish you'd never been my mate... I wish it would have been jake instead!" She screamed in my face. Suddenly her face paled as she looked up at me- all anger was replaced by guilt.

I shut my eyes and nodded.

My wolf thrashed inside wanting to rip Jacob apart, limb from limb. But I controlled myself and focused on the beautiful girl underneath me that had practically punched straight through my chest and pulled out my still beating heart and stomped on it until all that was left was a red gunk. Sappy? Yeah. But that didn't even cover what I was feeling.

"Caleb I-"

"The ring was for you." I interrupted her making sure to stare straight into her eyes. The same eyes I fell for in my senior year.

"I bought the ring the following week you left. I was hoping, wishing- praying even that you'd come back. I was planning on begging for your forgiveness and then asking for you to marry me." I chuckled. "A bit rushed but I just wanted you back. I wanted to prove that I was ready to committed to you." I shook my head and shut my eyes.

"Then I heard you were back and then I saw the twins... God Ari I was ecstatic, overjoyed.." I smiled remembering how I ran into Zoey in the woods and knowing Right away she was my little princess. And Joey. .. the way he held his head up and didn't back to me; in wolf and human form. I was so proud of my boy.

"I came back home after I went to your house And pulled out the ring. I was contemplating whether to ask you to marry me or wait until I gained your trust. I left it on the bed... and I guess Sarah found it." I shook my head once more before jumping off of ari and off the bed.

"But that doesn't even matter." I laughed humorlessly as I made my way to the front door "All you've wanted is Jacob." I cringed but turned back to see a pale Ariana with tears running down her cheeks.

Instinctively my body twitched to her wanting to comfort her but I controlled myself and quickly walked out of the room and towards the front door. I could hear her jump off the bed and stumble out of bed.

"Caleb!" She yelled as I rushed out of her house. I had to get out. I needed air.

"Caleb." She cried as I burst into my wolf midrun and left her behind. I shook out my fur and the sound of Ariana's voice.

Anyways random thingy ... my hair's turning blonde which is annoying and weird. I've dyed my hai about three times and each time its gone blode.

Auburn - blonde

Red - Blonde\Orange (Not cute..)

Dark Brown - Blonde.

Its like seriously? Was I blonde in another lifetime or something! I mean my natural haircolor had some strands of blonde but it was mostly brown.... and now my browns going away ... weird... has that happened to anybody or am I the only weird person?
