Chapter 929
Trapped in Love
Rowan stared at Scott.
âBut this is Mr.Jordanâs hard work!â âHard work?â A low chuckle escaped Scott as he inched closer to Rowan, exuding terrifying coldness.
He emotionlessly asked, âIsnât Evan dead?â Scottâs expression terrified Rowan, and his heart pounded vigorously against his chest.
âEven so, you canât take up his post because youâre not a Jordan.
You have no right to inherit it.â âIs that so?â Scott laughed.
He extended his hand toward Elvira, and she immediately handed over a document.
Scott smacked the document on Rowanâs chest.
âWhy donât you read this?â Rowan opened the document and widened his eyes in shock after reading it.
Alex and Lucas inquired around before leaving the police station in Muricia.
Once in the car, they frowned deeply in silence.
11 wasnât until they had been driving for a while that Lucas spoke up.
âI think itâs impossible.
Why could they find the murdererâs body remnants but not Evanâs?â Alex replied.
âThe cops said it was impossible even if he jumped off with a parachute because they didnât find traces of the parachute despite their extensive search.
They couldnât locate Evanâs body remnants, either.
Whatâs exactly going on here?â âDoes it mean that we can still hope that Evan is alive since they couldnât find his body remnants?â Lucas asked.
Frustrated, Alex fisted his hair.
âMy mind is a mess now, and I canât figure anything out!â Lucas sighed.
âOkay.
Let me call my dad.â Stupefied, Alex Instantly sat up straight.
âYeah, your father has some connections here.
Ask him to see if he can get someone to secretly look for Evan.â Lucas nodded.
âYeah, thatâs the only option for now.
Letâs get back to the hotel.â âBy the way, Lucas, you know that Neil also had an accident, donât you?â
Alex asked.
Sighing with regret, Lucas said, âYeah.
Neil is also missing.â Thinking of Caroline, Alex said with compassion, âI guess Caroline knows what happened now.
Do you think sheâll take the matter too seriously?â Knitting his brows, Lucas asked, âAre you saying that she might not hold on since sheâs lost so many people simultaneously?â âCould you hold on if it were you?â Alex looked at Lucas.
âItâs already quite a big blow to us, given Evanâs accident.â Stressed, Lucas nodded.
âWeâll go back and try to save Caroline after weâve contacted the people here to search for Evan.
I hope she can hold on until we get back and tell her that Evanâs body remnants werenât found.â Alex took a deep breath and looked at the sky that was slowly clearing up.
âI quess thatâs the best consolation.â âYeah.â They arrived at the hotel at 7:00a.m.
Even though they were busy because of Evanâs accident, they were mentally exhausted rather than physically exhausted.
After all, the accident was a mystery.
After getting out of the car, Lucas looked around the shops.
âWhy donât we get some food before heading back to rest?â Alex waved.
âIâm not used to the food here.
Iâd better go to bed instead.â âNo, thereâs a shop selling our countryâs dishes less than 100 meters from here,â Lucas explained.
Alex took two steps back and looked over.
There was indeed such a shop.
âOkay, as long as itâs not bread.â While talking.
Alex and Lucas walked toward the restaurant together.
But before reaching the door, Alexâs eyelids started twitching vigorously.
He rubbed his eyes and clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Lucas looked at him and asked, âWhatâs the matter with you?â
