Chapter 854 Like a Sister

Alex crushed tηe wine glass in his hand before Lucas could finish his sentence.

Azure and Lucas turned to the sound in unison.

Azure’s face turned ghastly pale when she saw Alex’s right hand drenched in blood. She hastily leaned forward and grabbed Alex’s hand. “Have you lost your mind, Alex?”

Lucas rushed forward as well. “Fuck! Is it worth doing this for a woman? Damn, there’s so much blood!”

Lucas told Azure, “Fatty Azzie, get a waiting staff and see if there’s a first aid kit! I’ll go to the pharmacy nearby to get some disinfectant and tweezers! His palm is covered in glass shards!”

Azure nodded and rushed out of the private room.

Alex told Lucas soon after she left, “Follow her! Don’t come back in less than 10 minutes! Figure out a way to stall her!”

Lucas stared at Alex’s wound. “Understood, hang in there!”

Lucas rushed out of the private room as well.

Alex looked at Azure’s bag, which was placed next to him, and grabbed the USB drive with his uninjured hand.

Then, he grabbed Azure’s phone and inserted the USB drive.

Azure’s phone unlocked automatically as soon as the USB drive connected.

Soon, a series of codes appeared on the screen, along with a progress bar.

Alex waited anxiously and checked the door frequently, assuming that the process would take long.

The progress bar was already full in just two minutes before a notification showed up to indicate the completion of the software download.

Alex pulled out the USB drive and stuffed Azure’s phone back into her bag.

At the same time, he texted Lucas.

Alex: [It’s done. You can stop stalling.]

Lucas was shocked when he received the text.

Lucas: [The software download has been completed so soon, huh?)

Lucas immediately ran into the elevator in preparation to get some disinfectant from the pharmacy.

Azure returned with a first aid kit five minutes later.

She sat next to Alex and helped him dress his wound.

She shed tears when she was halfway through the process after noticing Alex’s lack of response to the pain.

“Do you love her that much, Alex?” Azure asked.

Alex’s gaze was dim, and his lips were tightly pursed.

Azure looked away in disappointment and carefully removed the glass shards from his palm. “Am I not good, Alex?”

Alex looked at her, speechless.

Azure’s tear landed on Alex’s palm. “Alex, I really don’t know what you see in her that is worthy of you hurting yourself like this. Why won’t you pay attention to me instead? Do you know that I’ve never fallen in love with anyone else over the years? You’re the only one I love…”

“Don’t speak anymore. Saying that won’t make a difference,” said Alex.

Azure cried more profusely. “So you won’t choose me, huh?”

“No. I can’t stop loving her even if she were to do something that makes me loathe her even more!”

Alex rejected her.

Tears streamed down Azure’s face. “So, you care for me because you regard me as your sister, is that right?”

Alex said, “Yes, like a sister.”

Azure wiped away her tears and lowered her head, “Alright, I understand.”

Alex looked away from her.

The gathering ended because of Alex’s injury.

After leaving Wild Sides, Lucas and Alex immediately headed to Bayview Villa.

Caroline and Kenny were having supper downstairs and looked at them in confusion when they barged into the villa.

Kenny said, “Why are you trespassing on someone’s property In the middle of the night?”

Alex ignored Kenny and asked Caroline, “Where are your sons, Caroline?”

Caroline answered, “Evan is putting them to bed.”

Alex turned around and headed upstairs.
