Caroline walked over to Scott and asked, “Why are you here at this time?”

Scott smiled at Caroline. “Not much. I thought you might still be awake, so I brought you the supplements.

I bought this morning.”

Caroline examined the supplements and wondered, “Why did you buy these? I already have everything I need.”

Scott explained, “These supplements are of very high quality. You haven’t been looking well lately, and I wanted to make sure you get all the essential nutrients you need.”

Caroline felt grateful but also concerned. Im sorry you had to spend your money on this. Please don’t buy them for me anymore.”

“No need for pleasantries between us,” he said gently.

Caroline looked at him, feeling guilty in her heart.

Meanwhile, Evan observed them, his expression turning serious. ‘They share a deeper connection after the five years they spent together!

Evan disliked the pent–up anger he was feeling. He wrapped his arm around Caroline’s shoulder, a hint of hostility in his expression, and warned, “Your kind attention may cause stress for my woman.”

Caroline sighed internally, thinking, ‘Here he goes again…”

Scott glanced at Evan’s arm, then smiled and replied, “There’s no need to assert dominance, Mr.

Jordan.

Carol and I have spent just as much time together as you have. It’s natural for us to care about each other.

Evan sneered. “Do you think I can’t see your thoughts written all over your face?”

Scott calmly asked, “Are you trying to restrict Caroline’s social freedom, Mr. Jordan?“”

Evan explained, “I won’t interfere with her social life, but I need to approve of anyone who shows improper Intentions toward her.”

Scott questioned, “Do you believe two boxes of supplements are enough to win Caroline’s affection, Mr.

Jordan?”

Scott’s remark held a hidden meaning, implying that Evan saw Caroline as someone who could be won over by small gestures. Evan’s hand clenched tightly, and Caroline observed him subconsciously.

Before Evan could respond, Caroline changed the subject. “Would you like something to eat, Scott?”

Scott declined, “I’m leaving now that I delivered the supplements. I don’t want to disturb you two when you should be resting.”

Caroline suggested, “It’s fine. I haven’t washed up yet. You must be hungry. Stay for supper.”

Caroline turned to Evan and offered, “You should eat, too. I’ll cook.”

Evan stayed silent, realizing that Caroline was determined to cook. Scott didn’t decline either, so he sat down and waited quietly.

However, Evan couldn’t help but glance at the two boxes of supplements, his expression growing serious.

Is giving two boxes of supplements really that impressive for Caroline? I’ll have Reuben buy enough supplements to fill a plane as a gift for her tomorrow! he thought.

“Mr. Jordan, you seem hostile toward me,” Scott remarked.

Evan looked at him coldly and replied, “Shouldn’t I be when you’re openly pursuing my woman?”

Scott smiled and asked, “In that case, how should I have reacted when you swooped in and started seeing Caroline just as things were getting serious between us?”

Evan frowned. “What were you doing?”

Scott quipped, “Isn’t it obvious what a grown man and woman do when they’re single?”

An intimate scene flashed in Evan’s mind. He clenched his fists tightly and threatened menacingly, “Stay away from Caroline if you don’t want to lose your job!”
