Chapter 801 Isn’t It Obvious?
Trapped in Love
Caroline walked over to Scott and asked, âWhy are you here at this time?â
Scott smiled at Caroline. âNot much. I thought you might still be awake, so I brought you the supplements.
I bought this morning.â
Caroline examined the supplements and wondered, âWhy did you buy these? I already have everything I need.â
Scott explained, âThese supplements are of very high quality. You havenât been looking well lately, and I wanted to make sure you get all the essential nutrients you need.â
Caroline felt grateful but also concerned. Im sorry you had to spend your money on this. Please donât buy them for me anymore.â
âNo need for pleasantries between us,â he said gently.
Caroline looked at him, feeling guilty in her heart.
Meanwhile, Evan observed them, his expression turning serious. âThey share a deeper connection after the five years they spent together!
Evan disliked the pentâup anger he was feeling. He wrapped his arm around Carolineâs shoulder, a hint of hostility in his expression, and warned, âYour kind attention may cause stress for my woman.â
Caroline sighed internally, thinking, âHere he goes againâ¦â
Scott glanced at Evanâs arm, then smiled and replied, âThereâs no need to assert dominance, Mr.
Jordan.
Carol and I have spent just as much time together as you have. Itâs natural for us to care about each other.
Evan sneered. âDo you think I canât see your thoughts written all over your face?â
Scott calmly asked, âAre you trying to restrict Carolineâs social freedom, Mr. Jordan?ââ
Evan explained, âI wonât interfere with her social life, but I need to approve of anyone who shows improper Intentions toward her.â
Scott questioned, âDo you believe two boxes of supplements are enough to win Carolineâs affection, Mr.
Jordan?â
Scottâs remark held a hidden meaning, implying that Evan saw Caroline as someone who could be won over by small gestures. Evanâs hand clenched tightly, and Caroline observed him subconsciously.
Before Evan could respond, Caroline changed the subject. âWould you like something to eat, Scott?â
Scott declined, âIâm leaving now that I delivered the supplements. I donât want to disturb you two when you should be resting.â
Caroline suggested, âItâs fine. I havenât washed up yet. You must be hungry. Stay for supper.â
Caroline turned to Evan and offered, âYou should eat, too. Iâll cook.â
Evan stayed silent, realizing that Caroline was determined to cook. Scott didnât decline either, so he sat down and waited quietly.
However, Evan couldnât help but glance at the two boxes of supplements, his expression growing serious.
Is giving two boxes of supplements really that impressive for Caroline? Iâll have Reuben buy enough supplements to fill a plane as a gift for her tomorrow! he thought.
âMr. Jordan, you seem hostile toward me,â Scott remarked.
Evan looked at him coldly and replied, âShouldnât I be when youâre openly pursuing my woman?â
Scott smiled and asked, âIn that case, how should I have reacted when you swooped in and started seeing Caroline just as things were getting serious between us?â
Evan frowned. âWhat were you doing?â
Scott quipped, âIsnât it obvious what a grown man and woman do when theyâre single?â
An intimate scene flashed in Evanâs mind. He clenched his fists tightly and threatened menacingly, âStay away from Caroline if you donât want to lose your job!â
