Chapter 737
Trapped in Love
Chapter 737 She Doesnât Walk Evan wanted to help Caroline with her problems, but he ended up making things worse.
âHow can I explain this to Caroline?â he wondered.
Liora was peacefully asleep in her bed when she heard a voice.
âTime to wake up, little one,â an ethereal voice whispered.
Liora could move her eyes but couldnât quite open them.
âWhoâs speaking to me?â she thought.
âWhy wonât you wake up? Sleeping is no fun,â the woman said.
Liora felt a surge of anger. What do you mean by no fun? How am I no fun?â
Struggling, Liora finally managed to open her eyes.
She saw Evan standing there, his gaze fixed on her..
Behind him, there was a woman in a patient gown, her long hair hanging loosely. She smiled at Liora, though something was unsettling about her.
The woman was undeniably beautiful but extremely thin, and her gaze was rather terrifying.
Evan noticed Liora was awake and asked, âLia, are you feeling unwell?â
The woman turned to Evan and said, âIs this your father? Heâs quite handsome.â
Liora was displeased that the woman was talking about her father. âWhat are you doing? Why does that concern you? Youâre being noisy!â
The woman chuckled and fixed her gaze on Evan, leaving her intentions unclear.
Evan looked at Liora in confusion. âLia, what are you saying?â
Liora recovered from her surprise and pointed behind Evan. âI wasnât talking to you. I was talking to her.â
Evan frowned and turned to look behind him.
However, there was no one there.
He turned back, concerned, wondering if Lioraâs fever was making her delirious. He asked, âIs that person a woman or a man?â
Liora sighed in frustration. âA rather beautiful woman. She woke me up earlier, and now sheâs still staring.
at you. Itâs so annoying!â
She pouted in anger.
Evan was baffled. He urgently pressed the call bell, sensing that something was amiss.
âI canât stand doctors. Iâll be back to play with you later,â the woman muttered, clearly agitated.
Lioraâs eyes widened as she noticed that the woman wasnât walkingâshe was floating.
âOh my God! Sheâs floating!â Liora exclaimed, pointing at the woman.
Evanâs expression darkened. âWhat nonsense are you talking about, Lia?â
âIâm not making it up! She floated out of the room!â Liora was visibly anxious.
Evan examined Liora closely, remembering her recent encounter with harassment. He wondered if this was a delusion stemming from that incident.
Just then, Dr. Ortiz hurried into the room.
âMr. Jordan,â he greeted Evan respectfully.
Evan glared at Dr. Ortiz, demanding, âWhy havenât you given her an intravenous infusion? Canât you see sheâs delirious from the fever?â
Dr. Ortiz explained, âWe canât administer an IV casually, Mr. Jordan. Iâve reviewed her medical records, and thereâs no sign of infectionâ¦â
Evan snapped, âHow do you explain her nonsensical talk earlier?â
Dr. Ortiz replied, âDuring a fever, children can sometimes talk in their sleep.â
Evan was furious. âLook at how conscious she is. Does she seem like sheâs sleepâtalking?â
Liora added, âIâm not lying. Why wonât you believe me that she was really here earlier?â
Dr. Ortiz was baffled. âWho are you talking about, Llora?â
âA beautiful lady wearing a patient gown! She has huge eyes,â Liora explained.
âPatient gown? Huge eyes?â
âYes, with long hair too.ââ
George did not recall seeing a woman with long hair and huge eyes on his way here earlier!
