Chapter 361.2 You Should Read the Room II
Charlie rolled her eyes. âCanât you read the room?â
âWhat do you mean by read the room?â
âWhen I donât want to see you, you should just walk past and pretend you didnât see me.â
That was exactly what Charlie did when they last met at a particular mall.
Chad lowered his gaze and smiled gracefully, âIâm sorry, I canât be that rude.â
He was clearly implying that Charlie was the rude one.
Charlie huffed. âNow that weâve greeted, can you leave?â
âIn such a big city, meeting each other must be fate. How about a drink together?â
Charlie looked at him with disdain, not moving an inch.
Imogen rolled her eyes silently, thinking that Chadâs shamelessness was on par with Troyâs.
Seeing that the two were silent, Chad raised an eyebrow. âWhy? So eager to see me leave? Got a blind date coming and afraid that I will see?â
âAfraid youâd gross him out,â Charlie replied.
âCoincidentally, Iâve got someone coming too. But Iâm not worried about you grossing her out. So, letâs wait together and introduce our dates to each other.â
Charlie and Imogen both were at a loss of words.
Imogen felt ridiculous.
Did Chad genuinely want to discuss exâpartners on a first date?
Was this what Chad learned after spending years abroad?
Charlie knew Chad was just trying to annoy her.
Her chest heaving angrily, she was about to lash out when Chad suddenly said, âOh, by the way,
the matchmaker mentioned my dateâs last name is Franco. It isnât you, is it?â
Charlie was about to speak when her words got caught in her throat, nearly choking her.
She took a breath and denied, âIs not.â
âWhy not?â
âThe name on Facebook is different.â
âOh, I have a secondary account called Hanns Braley.â
A twitch passed over Charlieâs face.
If Imogen wasnât mistaken, she had just caught a glimpse of the chat interface on Charlieâs phone screen, with the display name being Hanns Braley,
âChad Willock! Are you joking with me?â Charlie gritted his teeth.
From a distance, Ivette let out a cold chuckle.
Though she couldnât hear their conversation, it was easy to guess that if a man approached a woman and she rejected him, heâd surely take the hint and leave.
Chad was handsome and came from a prominent family. He wasnât the type to pester endlessly.
Thus, Ivette thought Chad had been sitting across from Imogen for quite a while without leaving. Indeed, it was because Imogen and her friend hadnât turned him away, intentionally leading him

She pursed her lips and said to Murphy, âAs you see, any random guy, as long as he looks wealthy, Imogen can laugh and chat with. How can someone like that be worthy of my cousin?â
Murphy didnât like Chad and, by association, despised Imogen even more. He suggested, âShould I teach her a lesson right now?â
âWhat do you have in mind?â
Murphy whispered a few words, âWe can⦠With a criminal record, even if Yohan accepts, Mr. Walter Harrington would never agree.â
âIs this a good idea? What if Yohan finds outâ¦â Ivette looked hesitant.
âDonât worry, I wonât let Yohan know.â
Ivette bit her lip. âIf Yohan finds out, donât tell him I knew about it.â
âRelax, I wonât rat you out.â
After saying that, Murphy made a call.
A few minutes later, a young man who looked like a thug approached Murphy.
Murphy whispered a few words in his ear. The young man nodded, pulled out a bag of powdery substance from his pocket, and slowly walked towards Imogenâs table.
