Chapter 342.1 Bullying

The woman said, “Apologize nicely, and I’ll let your daughter go. Otherwise, nobody knows what might happen. It’s unfair for my son to lie in bed while your daughter runs around.” Then, Imogen questioned, “Aren’t you afraid Troy will revenge?”

The woman retorted, “Let Troy come for revenge if he wants to!”

The woman had an indifferent expression, self–assured and seemingly unafraid of the Marshall family’s influence in New York City. She raised an eyebrow and smiled, “Have you decided yet?”

Imogen gazed at the woman, her eyes deep and her clenched fists gradually relaxing. She bit her lip and said, “I apologize.”

“I’m sorry,” Imogen looked at the boy on the bed, her eyes downcast. “I shouldn’t have been so forceful. I apologize to you and hope you recover soon.”

The woman said with a satisfied expression, “That’s more like it. A wise person knows when to vield. I advise you to remember this and don’t be overly arrogant, or you’ll end up like your dad.” The woman was bullying and didn’t deserve to mention Imogen’s father. Imogen wanted to retort but held back for the sake of Grace. She went to pick up Grace and held her. “Can we leave now?”

The woman waved her hand, and Imogen left the hospital room with Grace. As they reached the elevator, Imogen put Grace down and knelt to look at her with a soft voice. “Were you scared,

Grace shook her head and buried her face in Imogen’s embrace. “I’m not scared when you’re here.”

Grace only knew that today’s events were because of her. Imogen didn’t want her to suffer for no reason, so she forced the boy to apologize, leading to the subsequent events. “That’s good.” Imogen hugged Grace and gently stroked her head. “Let’s go home.”

Grace replied, “Okay.”

Imogen led Grace out. Troy approached them, with several bodyguards following behind. When he saw them, he walked up quickly, looking concerned. “Imogen, are you alright?” Imogen replied, “I’m fine.”

However, Grace stepped forward, her arms outstretched toward Troy, looking pitiful. “You’re

here.”

Seeing the band–aids on her palms, Troy picked her up and comforted her softly, “I’m sorry, Grace, I’m here now.”

Grace wrapped her arms around Troy’s neck, resting her head on his shoulder, appearing dependent. “Not scared anymore.”

Troy patted Grace’s shoulder gently and looked at Imogen. “What did Ire… What did the boy’s mother say to you?”

Imogen glanced at him and said, “She didn’t say much, just made me apologize her son.” Troy asked, “Did it upset you?”

“What do you mean?”

Irene fail to recognize Imogen? After all, Imogen didn’t change her name, and there were scattered media reports. After ignoring Imogen for over twenty years, Irene didn’t deserve to be her mother. Before Imogen could respond, Grace enthusiastically approved. “Troy, let’s go up and get revenge for Imogen!”

Troy looked at Imogen. After a moment, Imogen said, “I’m not upset, Troy. The main issue was with Grace. You go up and make that boy apologize to Grace.”

Irene valued her son so much. Forcing her son to apologize was what hurt her the most. Troy said, “You go wait in the car for me.”

Imogen replied, “Alright.”

Imogen went to wait in the car, and Troy, holding Grace, entered the elevator with his bodyguards. At the door to the hospital room, the leader and another man stood outside. When they saw Troy with Grace, they became alert. Not far from the room, Troy stopped, gestured, and softly said to Grace, “Grace, don’t look.”

Grace obediently turned her head. All eight bodyguards moved forward swiftly, subduing the leader. The commotion outside alerted the people in the hospital room, and Irene’s voice rang out, “Brian, what’s going on?”
