Reborn Team up with the CEO for Revenge!
Chapter 329.2 Mastermind Leo (2)
âArenât you concerned that Troy might hold this against you if he discovered your visit?â Yohan asked.
âIâm doing it for his benefit. Heâll come to understand it later,â Emily replied with conviction.
A glimmer of mockery danced in Yohanâs eyes. âCould it be that Troyâs rebellion against you over Imogen pushed you to consider partnering with someone like me? Are you willing to have Troy resent you just to break him and Imogen apart?â
Embarrassment washed over Emily as she continued, âNow that weâve come this far. If you disagreeâ¦â
âImogen will be heading to the police station this morning.â Yohan raised his hand and sipped his coffee.
Although Yohan resented Emily for breaking up his parentâs marriage, which ultimately led to his motherâs depression and tragic end, he couldnât deny that Emilyâs words had struck a chord with
him.
Yohanâs attitude toward Imogen gradually evolved from indifference to determination, driven by his affection for her and his thirst for revenge against Troy.
A hint of satisfaction flickered in Emilyâs eyes. âI understand,â she said.
Imogen arrived at the police station around nine oâclock.
When she asked to visit Sarah, the officer hesitated briefly. âSarah is implicated in two criminal cases. Technically, visits arenât permitted. Ms. Forbes, what if you were to speak directly with the Commissioner? We would require the Commissionerâs approval.â
Imogen presumed that Frank had merely overlooked informing his subordinates yesterday. âIs he available at the moment?â
Since they were already at the police station, making another phone call would be impolite.
The officer nodded and replied, âCommissioner is upstairs.â
âAlright.â
Imogen turned and ascended the stairs to the second floor.
The door to Frankâs office wasnât tightly closed, with a small

gap remaining.
âLeo is the eldest grandson of the Marshall family. We canât just stand by and watch him fall in flames.
âItâs just an old and forgotten case anyway. Besides Imogen, no one cares about it. Troy is undoubtedly siding with his brother. The idea must have come from him. Everything is impeccable, even Imogen believes it. Mr. Cross, please be understanding, Imogen wonât suspect anything.
âYou must have heard about Troyâs relationship with Sarah. Despite their breakup, they are still linked in the eyes of the public. Now that Sarah is involved in a criminal case, itâs not good for Troyâs image. So, Troy wants to sever ties with her. A few more years in prison wonât matter. No one will help her overturn the case. Weâll compensate her when she gets out.
âIf this plan succeeds, the Marshall family will surely express their gratitude.â
Frank responded, âMrs. Emily Marshall, I understand your emotions, but Iâm afraid I cannot

accommodate your demands. When I put on this uniform, I must uphold its standards!â
Emilyâs words hit Imogen like a barrage, each sentence sinking in with a chilling effect.
Though Imogen was dressed warmly, surrounded by heating, she felt like she was in a frozen wasteland, trembling from the cold, her teeth chattering.
âItâs just an old and forgotten case anyway. Besides Imogen, no one cares about it.â These words echoed in her mind.
âTroy is undoubtedly siding with his brother. The idea must have come from him. Everything is impeccable, even Imogen believes it.â Imogen repeated to herself, trying to make sense of the situation.
So⦠Leo was the mastermind behind her fatherâs death?
Did Troy intentionally keep it a secret after learning about Leoâs involvement, buying time to find a way to shift blame and cooperate with others in a coverâup?
Shifting blame onto someone else wasnât a realistic option, and Sarah recently confided in Blake, allowing Troy to manipulate the situation.
Imogen would never believe Troy capable of such actions at any other time, but Leo was his older brother.
On one side stood his brother, the one he had grown up with, and on the other side was his former fatherâinâlaw, who had passed away a decade ago. It was evident whom Troy would chooseâ¦
If he could engineer a scheme involving Erik and Ann, there was no guarantee he wouldnât do something similar this timeâ¦.
Could Emilyâs words, spoken in person, be anything but accurate?
Could Emily have somehow foreseen Imogenâs arrival and spoken to Frank in a way that seemed like she was addressing Imogen, all in an attempt to drive a wedge between herself and Troy?
Was such a scheme even feasible?
A sharp, searing pain pierced Imogenâs chest, an ache that tore at her heart. A bitter lump lodged â in her throat, and she tightly compressed her lips, forcing down the bitterness.
Her nose tingled, and her eyes suddenly welled up with tears, a misty veil settling over her vision.
She blinked repeatedly, gazing up, inhaling deeply, and taking a sniff.
She had indeed forgotten the pain after the wound had healed. How could she forget what kind of person Troy was just because of his favour?
He was a master at playing a role.
She couldnât blame him for leaning toward Leo. It was only human nature.
But how could he simultaneously cover for the person responsible for her fatherâs death while trying to appease her and make her happy?
It was an act that seemed incredibly convincing.
Once again, Imogen had been deceived by Troy.
