Chapter 329.1 Mastermind Leo (1)

Imogen was abruptly hit by a flashback to the day she and Troy had visited his office. Following the conclusion of Troy’s meeting, he hurriedly departed to take a phone call. Upon his return, his face bore the marks of injuries, and his appearance was dishevelled. His demeanour had an unusual sense of distance as he silently embraced her and remained tight–lipped when Imogen inquired about the cause of his condition.

It was likely that he discovered it at that very moment.

On one hand, he was facing his brother. On the other, it was her father. Troy refrained from mentioning anything to Imogen once he learned the truth. Instead, several days passed before Jeff arrived in New York City, during which Troy finally orchestrated Leo’s surrender.

If Leo was the mastermind, then the idea of shifting the blame onto Sarah was most likely conceived by Troy. Perhaps he could erase some evidence during these few days and fabricate new

ones.

But would Troy truly resort to such a method to aid Leo in evading responsibility?

Imogen didn’t dare to claim that she knew Troy inside and out, but she had a hunch that he wasn’t the type to resort to such tactics.

At eight o’clock in the morning, Yohan pushed the door open and stepped into the lounge. Emily was already settled on the sofa, serenely sipping her coffee.

He shut the door behind him and strolled in. his demeanour poised with a touch of arrogance. Yohan gracefully settled into a seat across from Emily and inquired, “Mrs. Emily Marshall, how may I assist you?”

Emily smiled and responded, “It’s something of significance.”

“I don’t believe there’s anything substantial between us to discuss,” Yohan remarked casually.

Emily arched an eyebrow and asked, “So why did you go to the trouble of coming? As the saying goes, there are no lifelong friends, only lifelong interests. I’m certain you grasp this concept.”

Yohan leaned against the back of the sofa, silently studying her.

Emily continued, “Then I’ll be direct. Did you manipulate Jeff’s testimony?”

Yohan was a businessman, and every move he made was tied to his interests. He didn’t engage in futile endeavours.

Apart from Imogen and Leo’s associates, the only individuals who could have had contact with Jeff before he ended up in police custody were Yohan’s associates.

Yohan smiled, and his expression unwavering. “Before you start tossing around wild accusations, remember there’s no solid proof here. Why would I grease Jeff’s palm to look out for Sarah?”

Emily responded with a knowing look, “That’s something only you’re privy to. You can deny it all you want, but bottom line, your moves are working in my favour.”

Yohan raised his gaze, a hint of sarcasm flickering in his eyes. “With Leo behind bars, Marshall Group falls into your son’s hands. You’ve played your cards quite well.”

Emily didn’t deny it. “And then there’s Imogen. Troy married her but failed to cherish her truly. He deeply regrets it and is eager to win her back. I know you, Troy, and I have some lingering resentment. If you’re looking to get back at Troy, the best way would be to win over inogen. It is the perfect opportunity, and I’m willing to assist you. You met Imogen when you we abroad, and it’s safe to say you have feelings for her, right?”

Yohan’s gaze intensified, and a faint smile curved his lips. “Did Troy have any idea paying me a visit?”

“Whether he knows or not, does it make a difference?” Emily replied with a shrug.
