Chapter 197
Sir Your Wife Already Signed the Divorce Paper
Chapter 197 Imogen Disappeared
Back at the forest campground from the lighthouse, the guide had cleared an area with other tourists for a campfire.
Imogen and Charlie brought selfâheating rice with a side dish of bacon, which was then eaten with barbecue skewers, which was very satisfying to have in the wilderness.
Jeremy helped the guides distribute the food.
âLadies, hereâs your coffee.â Jeremy brought over two paper cups and gave one to Imogen and Charlie, âIf you donât have enough to drink, you can still get it over there.â
âOkay, thank you.â Imogen took it, took a sip, and put it aside.
Jeremy was unhappy about this.
Joshua had a nervous breakdown and brought sleeping pills with him when he went out. He didnât expect to sleep better and better after traveling, and he even said he got sleeping pills for nothing.
Well, wouldnât that come in handy?
After dinner, Imogen sipped coffee with a hand in his hand.
The tour guide took a few bottles of beer from the car and asked the tourists by the campfire, âThere is beer here. Do you want to drink?â
Not many people wanted to drink beer. Only five or six people asked.
The guide handed them each a bottle and looked around the room. âYouâre not going to have any? Look at the moonlight, look at the beautiful scenery, look at the compatriots. Itâs a rare opportunity. Are you sure you donât want to drink some? A beer is just a drink and you wonât get drunk.â
After the tour guide said that, a few more people asked for a beer. Charlie also went to get two bottles and returned and threw one to Imogen, âItâs a rare time like this. Drink some.â
Imogen took it and pulled the pull tab.
A group of familiar strangers sitting opposite each other in the wilderness of a foreign country, enjoying the view and talking about it.
In this scenario, Imogen did want a beer as well.
She wasnât sure if her drinking had declined or what was happening. Only halfway through the beer, Imogen felt dizzy, her eyelids were fighting, and she couldnât stop yawning, out of breath. Charlie saw it and asked, âWhy are you so sleepy?â
âI didnât have a good rest last night.â
She wasnât lying.
Yesterday she cried and said to Troy, âI just want you to stay away from me.â
Troy held back for a long time, and after saying his word, he turned away forlornly.
Imogen could not figure out his attitude, lying in bed at night. Once she closed her eyes, her mind was full of Troyâs lost eyes and lonely back, tossing and turning until late at night, but she did not fall asleep.
âDid you get scared by those bootleggers? Why donât you go back to your tent and rest? Thereâs nothing to see when it gets dark anyway.â Charlie said.
Now itâs primarily people getting together to talk and play games, and itâs okay not to participate. âThen Iâll go back to my tent first.â Imogen put down the bottle of wine, greeted the guide, and went back to the tent first.
A dozen or so tents were scattered in various places around the area.
Imogen and Charlieâs tents were farther away from the fire, pitched on the edge of the forest, and, of course, there were two more tents farther away than they were.
Insect repellent was sprinkled around the area, so they didnât have to worry about snakes or mosquitoes.
Imogen unzipped and closed the zipper after getting into the tent, pulling the thin blanket back over her body, setting the phone aside, and closing her eyes as she drifted into a deep sleep. Imogen didnât take long to wake up from the heat and kick the blankets off her body.
Half asleep, as if she heard a zipper unzip, she closed her eyes and asked in a daze, âCharlie, is the campfire over?â
There was a zipper sound, but no one answered.
After asking this, Imogen rolled over and went back to sleep.
Hearing no sound from inside the tent, the zipper sounded again, and someone unzipped it. A figure crept in.
Jeremy held his breath and didnât dare turn on the light. He surveyed the layout of the tent by the moonlight that spilled in through the hole at the top of the tent.
Seeing Imogen asleep, Jeremy carefully reached to undress her clothes.
It was also the first time he had done such a thing, and his hands shook.
âHotâ¦â
Imogen murmured, raising a hand to wipe her forehead. There was no sweat.
The heat in her body couldnât be expelled, making it hard for her.
Jeremy was too stiff to move for fear of waking Imogen.
Did the medicine work?
There was a small town in Apollo Bay that attracted a lot of travelers to this side of the country. The town was booming. Maybe more couples were coming to visit, or perhaps it was the openâmindedness of foreign countries. There was an Adult Goods Store, and when he returned from the lighthouse, he made a trip toâ¦
As Imogen withdrew her hand, she inadvertently touched Jeremyâs arm, and a coolness came over her.
Her mind was chaotic, and it had already become a mess, and she couldnât help reaching out to find the source of the coolness.
Seeing this, Jeremy stretched out his hand cautiously.
Imogen grabbed Jeremyâs hand and instinctively pressed it to her face to relieve the heat from her body.
But it wasnât enough. This bit of coolness wasnât enough, and she wanted more.
Jeremy was pleased, encouraged, and whispered, âImogen, donât worry, Iâll give it to you immediately.â
He was about to continue undressing Imogen when footsteps suddenly came from outside. Jeremy was on alert, holding his breath.
Could it be that Charlie was back?!
What? What should he do?
He hurriedly lay down and closed his eyes, pretending to be in the wrong tent.
It would be best if it were someone passing by, and if it was Charlie coming back, it could be adequately explained.
Footsteps came closer, stopping in front of the tent as someone unzipped the zipper.
Jeremy was disappointed for a while.
The bonfire flames shouldnât be over so soon. He didnât expect Charlie to be back so early!
The plan was no longer going to work. All he could hope for now was that Charlie would never notice anything strange about Imogen and that heâd be fine after tonight.
Suddenly, one of her arms was on him.
Jeremy felt his heart stop.
Imogenâs hot mind was dazed, her consciousness was drowsy, and she was like a person in a scorching desert, instinctively searching for an oasis.
The oasis was found, and her whole body pounced on it.
Jeremy didnât dare to move a muscle, and he was helpless.
He reassured himself that it was okay and that Charlie shouldnât suspect anything as long as he insisted Imogen was drunk.
The tent was opened, but there was no movement.
Jeremyâs heart was beating nonstop, and suddenly he felt a cool chill around him.
Charlie must have gotten scared by the scene in the tent!
A few seconds later, there was a rustling sound next to him and a lightness in his body that must have been Charlie pulling Imogen away.
Another slight sound, accompanied by Imogenâs soft grunt, as the footsteps moved away.
There was silence all around.
It was long before Jeremy dared to open his eyes. The tent was zippered open, and Imogen was gone beside him.
He figured it was because Charlie feared the publicity would be bad for Imogenâs reputation, so he took her away. There were extra tents at the guideâs place.
Jeremy poked his head out of his tent, looked to his left and right to see that no one was there, and immediately went back to his tent.
He lay sheepishly in his tent, meditating, and fell into a deep sleep in a few moments.
Sometime later, he was suddenly awakened by a shout,
He got up in a daze and looked out of the tent to see that Charlie was yelling.
The guide came over and asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
âImogen⦠My companion, sheâs gone!â Charlie looked anxious, âShe clearly said she was coming
back to bed!â
