Chapter Four.

Alpha's Awaited Mate *Re-uploaded*

Leon

I didn't go to the house in the city after leaving my mate's house. Instead, I drove towards the pack house which was an hour away from my mate's house.

Well, it wasn't what you'd literally term as a 'pack house'. We had a mansion, to make visitors see clearly where the Alpha resided with his family. And so did the beta's family. We lived together in the mansion. There was a large plain ground surrounding the mansion, where pack meetings were held as well as the where wolves were trained to be fighters in case other packs needed our help, or to defend our pack from rogue attacks.

Rogues were something considered as a threat to packs. They were wolves who had left their packs by choice, or if they had done a serious crime, they were kicked out of the pack. They liked hiding in the woods, terrorizing packs for their amusement. If you ask me, they were worse than dogs with rabies.

But as I was saying, beyond the training gardens, were houses where the pack members lived with their families/mate's.

Since we had the largest pack in the world, it was a crazy idea to have the whole pack residing at our mansion, so my dad, the previous Alpha, made this decision of having houses made for the pack members when he first became the Alpha.

A large forest protected the pack from curious human eyes. The woods were dense and only the people who knew the correct way to the pack could reach it without getting lost in the woods.

Pack meeting in fifteen. Call everyone. I mind-linked my beta.

On it. Andrew replied and I returned my attention towards the road.

"Leon, son, come here." My dad called as soon as I entered the mansion. I looked towards him confused. My dad, Marco, had ink black hair that I inherited from him, as well as my tall height. He was muscular in his own way. Strong, but yet he looked lean enough to make people underestimate him. His brown eyes stared at me determined, as if he was thinking of something I wouldn't like.

"Yes, dad?" I asked as I walked over to him. He led me into my office where mum was. She was petite. Just around 5'4. She was a brunette and the same dark blue eyes like me. She looked at me wearily, as if she was gauging my reaction for something. I looked behind her and groaned.

"Who made this mess?" I said as I walked over to the desk and started shuffling through the papers scattered across the oak table. I started arranging them in neat piles and heard my dad clear his throat.

"Sorry about that. I was just going through the pack and company progress." Dad said and I sighed.

"It's alright, dad. Now, what did you want to talk about?" I asked, looking up at them for a second. He nodded towards the chair behind me.

"Sit." He said and I complied, feeling more confused than ever. Dad took a deep breath before looking at me straight in the eye. "Son, you know it's been a long time, and you still haven't found your mate." Dad started. I opened my mouth to contradict him but he held his hand up, shutting me up.

"You've managed the pack and the company very well, so far. You have worked for more than eighteen hours a day to bring the company and the pack to the glory it has now, and I- we both know how much you've been burdened by this." Dad said and took a deep breath, his eyes shining with pride as they looked at me.

"So, your mother and I, we both have decided to select a Luna for you. We've found the perfect candidate as well. Her name is Violet-" My thoughts immediately snapped towards my mate, thinking of her violet eyes that entrapped me. "You'll be meeting her the day after. I've already talked to her father who is the Alpha of the Blood Fangs pack. She has the same interests as you and-"

"Dad!" I interrupted him. He glared at me for it but I shook my head. "Dad, I'm not going to meet this Violet person." I said and mom looked at me in sorrow.

"Leon, how long are you planning to wait for your mate? For all you know, she could be dead. This pack needs a Luna. It's gone too long without her and I'm also feeling a bit under the weather to continue being a replacement in her absence." Mom said and I sighed before giving her a small smile.

"You won't have to anymore, mom." I said and my parent's eyes widened.

"You mean..."

"Yes, dad. I've finally found my mate." I said and mom exclaimed in surprise. Her hands went up and covered her mouth as tears formed in her eyes. She got up from where she was sitting in front of me and walked around the desk before giving me a tight hug.

"Oh, I'm so happy for you, Leon! When did you meet her? When will we get to meet her? Is she a strong wolf? How does her wolf look like?" Mom rambled and I chuckled.

"That's why I've called a pack meeting, mom. Let me freshen up and I'll tell everyone everything."

The hushed talking of the pack members was heard before I even exited the mansion. Now in regular jeans and shirt, I felt more comfortable, more relaxed than in a business suit.

I knew they were all curious as to why I had called a pack meeting suddenly, in the early night as well when all the kids were sleeping. Andrew was talking to my parents, my sister hugging his arm as she stood beside him. They looked opposites.

Where Andrew had blonde hair and grey eyes, my sister had mom's brown hair with dad's brown eyes. Where Andrew was tall, my sister had mom's petite figure. But when they stood together, they looked perfect. A contrast of the other, but perfect nevertheless.

"Evening, everyone." I said in the microphone as I stood up to the podium from where I could address the pack. Conversations stopped, silence took over the whole training ground. I got curious looks from every direction, all of them curious about this meeting.

"I have a very good news to share with you." I started and the curiosity in everyone's eyes increased. "I have finally found you your Luna!" I exclaimed and every pack member shouted in happiness. Words like 'Finally!' and 'About time you did.' echoed through the air. I cleared my throat.

"However, there is a... twist, you could say." I said and the cheers died down. I received expectant looks from all around, waiting for me to continue. "She is a human." I said and the ground erupted again.

"What!?"

"What blasphemy is this!?"

"A human as our Luna!? Impossible!"

"We won't tolerate this!"

"Well, that escalated quickly." Andrew commented from beside me and I glared at him before returning my attention back to the rioting pack.

"Enough!" I shouted, glaring at everyone as I did. "You can and you will accept my mate as your Luna. Human or not, she is my mate and I will not tolerate anyone bad mouthing about her! Am I clear!?" I asked and the ground went silent before a chorus of 'Yes, Alpha.' was heard.

"Good. Now, as I was saying, your Luna is a human. As well as a mother." I raised my hand up before anyone of them could protest to that. "A few years ago, some mongrel-" I growled. "Decided to take advantage of your Luna's defenselessness." I said. A look of understanding came on everyone's faces before absolute rage took over.

"Who was he!?"

"How dare they touch our Luna!"

Double-sided, aren't they? My wolf commented and I nodded.

Luna is a Luna. Human or werewolf. The feelings still remain the same. I said and felt my wolf nod in return.

"Your Luna is not oblivious to the werewolf worlds reality. Your Luna's child, her daughter, Isabella, is really something. She's only five years old, yet she is able to shift into a werewolf." I said and gasps echoed through the air. Disbelief was present in everyone's faces. "Yes, I know it's impossible, but I saw it with my own eyes tonight. She has the same instincts as a werewolf. Her wolf took over when she sensed me spying on them. Though your Luna knows about me being a werewolf due to me being caught by my recklessness, she is unaware of the fact that we are mate's, or I'm the Alpha." I said and a newfound respect came in everyone's eyes.

"She really must be strong to go through all that."

"Do you think she can lead this pack with you, Alpha?"

"When will we get to meet them?"

"A child werewolf... That's something I'd really like to see." Dad said as he came up beside me. I looked at him and nodded.

"I'll try my best to make that happen as soon as possible." I told him and turned back towards the pack.

"I don't doubt my mate's capabilities. She's smart. Smarter than many she-wolves. She came as my new PA and has proven herself to me throughout the interview. Give her a chance to be your Luna. I know she won't disappoint any of you." I said and nods came from everyone.

"Alright, Alpha. We'll give her a chance." My wolf growled at that.

As if you had the chance to reject her in the first place.
