Accident

Xavier is a manager of the largest luxury car dealer in the City in his young age. Only 25 years old and he has his own house,flat and business. A manager and incredible savings. Not only one person thinks that he is bribing the God of blessing for making him this lucky.

But of course, Though he is lucky, he is also diligent and hard working.

Nobody deserves such blessings but people like him who work hard to earn it.

Despite his success in life, the 25 year old and handsome man is still a bachelor. Not even one time did he introduced a girl as his partner making a lot of rumors and assumptions that Xavier just brush off with a smile.

One reason is he is gay.

He was aware of his preference back in his college days when he first have a crush with his Senior roomate.

Though he supressed all his desires to focus on his studies and eventually survived the temptation.

Second, his strict but loving father.

Xavier doesn't know where is his mother.All he could remember is his father raising him alone in his little farm.

There are times his father will compare him to his mother and be sad afterwards.

He did try asking him where she is and the other siblings that his father mentioned but the old man is stubborn. He will not say a single thing and be quietly sad and distress all to himself.

Back then, he will wake up at night seeing his father crying and blaming himself.

Though he wants to investigate and find out the truth he decided to respect his father's decision to hide the truth.

He thinks that the other half of his family is dead and all he have is his father.

He really doesn't want to leave his dad alone in the province. Their Province are very far and not that modernized. With his help and the Village Chief's effort combined, they convinced the government to help them to have an electricity and running water in their small village.

Now the life in the province is not as hard as before but Xavier is still not satisfied.

He bought Town house and a house at the city trying to lure his father away from the province but he will eventually go back after visiting him once or twice.

There is something that making his father unable to give up the province and unable to let him renovate it.

Later Xavier give up in his father's stubborness.

He barely visit his father now but keeps calling him daily to check up on him and reminding him not to work too hard. The old man will always say 'Yes' but he knows the truth, he is not listening at all.

This made Xavier unable to work further away. When he has time, he would visit his father how tired or weary he was.

His coworker teased him as Papa's boy but he can only laugh at them because it is true.

"Xavier, I have good news for you. Boss called in and tell me that he wanted to send you at the main building."

In this country, Xavier works in the Main Branch. If his boss, The head of Marketing Department tells him he will work in the Main Building......it can only mean the original main building that located overseas.

"Boss...I...I can't leave my father." --is his first reaction.

He is excited, happy and proud to be chosen by their OIC. But this is not simply working to the leading building..It is leaving the country and his father.

He is already 50 years old.

He is stubborn and will not go anywhere further away from their home in the countryside.

Abroad...

It is impossible.

Though his father often told him not to worry and do what he wants only make him more unable to leave him.

His boss frowns.

"Don't turn it down so easily. This is a lifetime opportunity."

Xavier smiles.

He knows how kind is the Marketing Head.

He teaches him a lot and even advise him all his stock market investments and guide him when he needed advice for his small businesses.

"Let me ask my father, Sir."

"I am sure your father will support your success. Go on and tell me what you decide to do."

"Thank You Sir."

After leaving the door Xavier sighs.

"Did you get chewed by the boss?" Jennifer smirks at him.

Xavier rolls his eyes and walk away.

This girl is always trying to get to his nerve every single time.

Like him, Jennifer is a Branch Manager, her branch is just next to him so they often meet to do a marketing gimmick together.

He find her tolerable as a work partner but as a personal friend, he really doesn't want to get involve.

Xavier is calling his father's cellphone since yesterday night because of a heavy rainfall warning in their location in the news but the call won't connect.

His father often left his phone in the house so he has to call multiple times until the call connected.

It was very hard to call his father at night because he sleeps early and doesn't bring his phone in his bed so he is not worried.

Though their house is not that appealing it is sturdy so he is not worried it will be uprooted.

Still...His father will return his call once it saw his miscalls in the morning.

It's already lunch time and his father haven't return his call.

He frowns.

Then his phone ring as he is driving.

Seeing it is his father, he smiles.

Thinking his old man sleep in because of the cold weather he wanted to tease him but it is not his father on the other side.

"Hello, Is this Xavier?"

Xavier frowns.

"Village Chief, Why do you have Father's phone? Is he out?"

Xavier thinks that his call alarm the village chief so he returned his call for his father. But that is unusual because the Village Chief doesn't like complicated phones and his father's phone is one of those. Even if you forced him, he doesn't like touching it.

"Ah. It is you, finally. I am meaning to call you and just ask the nurse to help me return your call. Xavier do not be shock. Actually I am in the hospital."

Xavier heart beats faster.

He is feeling crazy frightened.

Trembling, he gulps.

"Village Chief...My Father......Is he..."

"Calm down. I will tell you the hospital address and the room location. You should come here."

Thanks to a loud beep from his back.

Xavier is back to him self.

He drive a bit faster and arrive in his father's room.

The doctor is still there.

"Doctor, he is the patient's son." The village Chief said and pat his shoulder.

"I'll go and buy something dowstairs."

he said to leave the room.

The doctor looks at him.

"Sir, You have to calm down so you can support the patient."

"Doctor, what happened to my father? Is he okay?"

"He is fine now but he is still in comatose. He hits his head hard and lost a lot of blood. Good thing he was brought early innyhe hospital and we have no more complications. We are now just waiting for the patient to wakes up."

"When will he wakes up?"

"Nobody knows, tomorrow, a week, months..sometimes years. You have to be patient. Talk to him. He can still hears you even though he is unconscious right now."

"Yes doctor. Thank you."

Xavier sits on the chair and bury his face on his palm. He cried softly as he thinks  that what if his father didn't get in the hospital in time? What will he do if he died? When will he be able to wake up? Will he be able to support his father's hospital bill if it takes decades of years?

Xavier clenched his fist.

Even if he can't he will.

All those savings and small businesses will not show its worth.

He only have one family in this world.

He is even more ashamed that he can't give his father the grandchildren he is always asking him to have because of his preference.

When he calms down, he kissed his father's forehead and went to the village chief.

It seems his father tried to save his field from the heavy downfall of rain when he slipt and fell in a rock.

Good thing the Village chief check his situation because his father is all alone. He found his father bleeding near his farm and with the help of the village men they brave the storm and bring him to the nearest hospital.

Xavier thanks the old man for his kindness.

The Village Chief pats his shoulder seeing his red eyes.

"Son, do not worry about us. We are villagers from the same village. You help us, we help you. But seriously, your father has a closed call. You have to stay and visit him more often."

He nods despite knowing it is nearly impossible. His job is not as relaxed as it sounds.

There are alot of things to do and even socializing is part of his work.

He has so little time for himself amd all his spare time are half in looking after his father's well being and sleeping.

"We've been meaning to call you last night. But in the village only your father has your number. It was too late and when I get back here to bring your father change of clothes I fell asleep. I only remembered when you call. I don't really know how to call back so I ask the nurse to call you for me."

Xavier smiles and pats the old man's back.

"Thank You Village Chief. My father owe his life to you."

"Psshh. Do not mention that little thing. You go to your house and get clothes and other things. I am not sure if what I bring is enough."

"I will get some more clothes. Come, let me drive you home."

"Is it alright to leave your father?"

"I asked the nurse to look after him so I can get some clothes. It is fine. Father is not in a serious situation." he said and smile.

The village Chief sighs seeing him act tough.
