Chapter 59: The meeting?

“Athena, are you okay?” Suzanne asked a stiff Athena who was sitting inside the conference room with a worried look on her face while looking around with uncertainty.

She didn’t like the situation she was in at that moment. She was feeling eerie and nervous and furious at the same time.

“I don’t understand, Suzy! Why wasn’t I aware of it earlier?! Why am I put into this suddenly? It’s just like a bomb dropped on me! I hate this and I want to get the heck out of here.” She snapped in irritation and anxiousness.

She was currently at the conference room waiting for a stupid meeting with the counselors to start. It dropped on her suddenly.

One moment she was laying on the bed and crying like a miserable woman and the next moment she was pulled up from the bed by him when there was a knock on the door. It was Justin who came there to let him know about the counsellors who were on their way already for the meeting.

She looked at him in shock but before she could say something to him or put any objection, he was already out of the way while muttering a small ‘It’s going to be alright’ and he was gone after that, leaving her there.

She stood there in shock, misery in confusion. She knew the meeting was about her and considering her fucked up situation, she could feel that it wasn’t going to be any good. More like it was everything bad in the world. She could feel a new disaster building up. And like she said once, she wasn’t ready for it.

“It’s okay, Athy. It’s going to be alright. Nathan and Justin are going to be there with you. I don’t know about Dominic because of the rejection but I feel like he is not going to disappoint you as well.”

Suzanne assured her in a soft tone but instead of that making her feel good, it worsened her mood in ten folds.

She felt an indescribable anger toward Dominic. First he acted so confused with her by showing all those affections toward her and touching her and looking at her like he wanted to worship her while the rejection still hung above their head. Then he didn’t give her any warning before dropping this news out of nowhere on her.

Is that fair to her in any way?

No! And who is responsible for this mess? Of course, Dominic! And she is not going to forgive him easily this time. She can already feel a big fight happening between them the minute all these are over.

“I don’t care about me at all, Suzy and you know that. I am just worried and hope that they don’t drag my baby into all these because that’s when I am going to lose shit. I don’t know what I am going to do but I just know it’s going to be a disaster if I lose control in front of them.” Athena said in a worried tone as she remembered yesterday’s incident with Stacey and she definitely didn’t want the same to happen again.

Because that shit was scary for her as well!

“Calm down, Athy. I know you and almost know you wolf. Even though things are not going well for your wolf, you both have a lot of control within yourself and that’s really good. So, you don’t have anything to b e worried about.” She said with a smile but the look Athena gave her worried her a little bit. “What’s up with that look?” She asked while looking at her with furrowed eyebrows.

“Well, I forgot to share an incident with you.” She said with a nervous look on her face. Athena looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

“What is it? I don’t like the look you are giving.” She said and waited for Athena to reveal it.

“Something happened yesterday. You know Stacey and how irritating she can be.” She said with a scowl and Suzanne patiently heard her with a similar expression on her face because she actually knew how irritating Stacey could get. “She was irritating me beyond limit by her unnecessary tricks and when she almost crossed her limit, something happened within me.” Athena stopped and let Suzanne get used to what she just said. She looked at her with a deep frown.

“What do you mean by something that happened within you?” She asked in confusion.

“Well, I myself don’t know what it was. It was like a divine power which possessed me. My nails and canines came out. My eyes’ colour changed to pitch black and I suddenly became so strong that I picked Stacey up on the wall by one hand. I didn’t even have my wolf with me. Can you believe that?!”

She asked with the same astonishment as before. Suzanne looked at her with a deep frown as she suddenly went silent and into deep thoughts.

“Well, that’s really strange to be honest. But I guess it was your wolf which got affected by the witch’s magic. But what I am unable to understand is, what did Stacey say or do to make you so angry to unleash that?” Suzanne asked in confusion.

Athena went silent hearing that question as she suddenly remembered what it was all about. It was about Dominic. She got jealous when Stacey was trying to rub all that shit on her face regarding her mate. She couldn’t bear it at all. It boiled her blood and she could only see red. It still feels weird to her to acknowledge that she was jealous. So, how could she admit the same to her friends?

“Well?” Suzanne asked her after waiting for a long time which brought her back to the present and she gave her a nervous smile while praying something would happen which would pull her out of it.

The miracle actually happened! Someone opened the door and entered the room. She didn’t need to look up to know who it was. She just knew. “Suzanne, please leave us alone for a moment.”

Suzanne couldn’t deny the authoritative tone and walked out after giving Athena one last encouraging look. As soon as she left, Athena looked up and met his eyes.

Dominic stood there with a blank look on his face.
