Chapter 459
Lord Protector Novel
Weak kidney?! Impotent?!
How did you f**king judge that Iâm impotent?
The silly Dawn finally came to the realization. âOh! No wonder my sister is reluctant to share the same bed with you. Because youâre impotent!â
âBrother-in-law, do not despair. I have faith in you.â
Zeke scowled at Dawn and flicked her on the forehead. âShut up, stop thinking nonsense.â
âOuch!â Dawn cried in pain and rubbed her forehead.
âIt hurts! Brother-in-law, I see your fingers are pretty agile and powerful.â Dawn made a dirty joke. âYour fingering skill can definitely make up for your impotency, ya know.â
âDawn, shut up. How could you pick up these skittish behaviors from Nancy!?â Lacey reprimanded;
now even Lacey had enough of it.
Nancy raised an objection, âHey hey hey, Lacey! What do you mean? Youâre saying Iâm skittish?â
Hannah and Daniel were delighted to see them getting along with each other.
âZeke, weâre sorry for misunderstanding you,â Hannah made a sincere apology.
âNext time, if there is any misunderstanding, itâs better we deal with it face-to-face. You shouldnât fly the coop for days.â
âYou donât know how worried we were about you during the three days when you were missing.â
âMom, donât worry. I promise I wonât do it again,â Zeke gave Hannah his words.
Then, he explained, âLacey said she would only believe me if snow fell in June. I have no choice but to go to Northern Xinjiang and collect snow.â
âWait!â Lacey cut in, âYou said... You went to Northern Xinjiang to collect snow?â
Zeke nodded. âYes, whatâs wrong?â
Lacey grabbed hold of Zekeâs hand. She looked at those calluses and gashes on his fingers and said, âSo, you got these frostbites when youâre digging for snow?â
Zeke let out a sigh. âWell, yeah. We were running out of time and lacking workers. So I needed to get my hands dirty.â
âYou... Youâre out of your mind.â Lacey hit Zekeâs chest and fell into his arms, weeping hysterically, âYouâre putting your life at risk!â
âNorthern Xinjiang is a war zone and if anything happens to you... What should I do?â
Zeke tried to introduce a note of levity, âDonât worry. Your husband is a hero. Bullets canât take me down.â
âStop fooling around!â Lacey thumped on Zekeâs chest.
âLacey, hold your ground! Look at you, all touched by his small gesture...â Nancy said, rolling her eyes and dragging Lacey back into the hall, âLetâs go. I want to have the lunch buffet instead of having you guys rubbing your lovely acts in my face.â
As they reached the entrance, Lacey turned around to face Zeke. âZeke, youâre not going anywhere.
Come with us.â
âDonât worry. Iâll be there soon,â Zeke said with a smile on his face.
After Lacey was out of sight, Zeke looked at Daniel and Hannah and asked pleadingly, âDad, mom, please tell me what else is there to be done? I couldnât seem to figure it out.â
Hannah gave a heartfelt smile. âZeke, actually youâve accomplished it splendidly.â
âThe next step is to have a wedding.â
Zeke was slightly bewildered. âAccomplished? When?â
âA confession! Youâve never confessed your feelings to Lacey before.â Hannah was hopeless with his slow-wittedness. âBut this grand snowfall is definitely more romantic than a mere confession.â
Zeke looked completely nonplussed. âWeâve been through thick and thin together. Is it that important to confess our feelings?â
Hannah shook her head at Zekeâs unromantic mind. Then, she entered the hall with Daniel.
Zeke noticed that Dawn looked as if she wanted to say something, so he asked, âDawn, are you not coming in? What are you doing here?â
âBrother-in-law, I want to ask you about a person,â Dawn said in a low voice.
Zeke nodded. âMm, go ahead. Who is it?â
âMy brother, Caleb Castaneda,â Dawn replied.
âHe serves in the army of Northern Xinjiang Military District. I heard that he has made great achievements in the army, but it has been years since he last contacted me.â
âHave you seen him when youâre in Northern Xinjiang?â
