waking up with a monster
BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch
Isabella's Point Of View
"Dimitri---" I moan a whisper, as I stirred in the bed. Beads of sweat trickled down my forehead, it was caused by the flames from the fire all around the pack. I could feel the heat burning from it.
"... Dimitri..." I called again, feeling tears well around my eyes. A huge pain crushing me as I fight to escape the nightmare I was trapped in.
I finally jolted up from the bed I laid, gasping in an ample amount of air. I paused, not able to move for a second, my eyes were stunned by the foreign environment surrounding me, I needed a minute to adjust to the environment I found myself in.
'where the hell was I?' I ask myself. I couldn't remember how I got to this place that wasn't home.
My hands clutch tightly to my head, as I feel a piercing ringing invade my mind. The pain came as I tried to recall what had happened before. I felt so weak, as if all my magic had been drained.
I inhaled deeply, the memories finally hitting me all at once.
We were attacked by Rafael's pack and the red circle and I remember being poisoned by Rubi and the basilisk's venom. It wasn't just a dream, all the chaos, the blood. It happened. The last thing I remember was watching everyone around me die, I remember the burning feeling in my throat when I screamed. That was the last thing I remembered before blacking out.
This can't be happening, I have been kidnapped. Rafael must have taken me.
I carelessly staggered round the massive bedroom trying to get my magic to work but it wouldn't work. I couldn't feel my magic, my powers had been tampered with.
I look at the runic symbols on my wrist as they stung every time I try doing magic. These magic symbols were what stopped me from performing my magic.
I knew these magical runes, they were a binding spell casted by a witch to lock away one's magic.
I ruffled through every corner of the room in search of anything that I could use to protect myself since I was rendered powerless without my magic.
Thank the moon goddess, I found a pair of silver scissors, it was just perfect since it was silver, it could be fatal to werewolves too.
'This will do.'I sigh
I gave a double scan around the room. It was large, and the decor seemed ancient. The dark curtains were thick enough to prevent the flow of any ray of sunlight. I stumbled over to the window, dragging off the curtains so I could see outside.
It was the early hours of the day and I was high up, at the top floor of the Castle. I could see a tall tower not too far from the castle, I wondered what was there.
Suddenly, I could hear several footsteps outside, approaching where I was.
'Three, no⦠five. Five werewolves were approaching.' The voice in my head noted.
I rushed to my bed to dress up the pillows to make it seem like I was still asleep, while I hid behind the door, with my weapon in hand.
Without knocking the doors were pushed open, letting in a familiar woman, Sheila. her eyebrows lifted as she stared at the empty bed. accompanying behind her were four well built men.
I jumped out from behind the doors, grabbing Sheila from behind and placing the sharp scissors on the softest part of her neck.
"Calm down Isabella, Don't do anything stupid. Killing me isn't going to get you out of here." Sheila said her heart was beating fast inside her chest.
"Where am I?" I grit, letting the scissors peirce into her soft white skin. Blood spilled from the cut I made.
"I don't know. Rafael wouldn't even trust me enough to tell me where we were going." Sheila answered.
"So that means you are completely useless to me." I say before slicing open her throat and plunging my scissors into her heart.
Sheila fell on the ground, drawing her last breaths. The other men just stared at me and the dead body on the floor, looking utterly unbothered that I just killed their Luna. I at least expected them to furiously attack me, in fact they didn't even seem pissed.
Sheila was just Rafael's puppet, she wasn't respected as a Luna in her own pack. She had no authority here, this proved that.
"I want to speak with your Alpha." I tell them, squaring my chin.
"Take." A wolf with long, sandy blond hair said, holding out a black dress for me. "Alpha wants you to change into this. He is waiting for you to have breakfast."
After changing into the dress, I was led out of my room. We made several turns inside the huge castle, taking the stairs down. I paid very close attention to every room, every door and every possible exit out of this prison, memorizing everything like my life depended on it. An escape would be impossible as Rafael had warriors stationed at every corner, watching every little move I made like hawks, but I needed to get out of here no matter what. I needed to get back to Dimitri and my pack, they still needed me.
Finally we arrived at a large dining room. The first thing I noticed were the assorted dishes decorating the wooden table. I heard my stomach grumble, expressing its hunger. I still felt weak from all of yesterday's madness.
Just then I heard his disgusting voice. "There you are." Rafael spoke, he was looking out through a window. He turned around, grinning at me. I could feel his pervasive eyes roam through my body, soaking in my essence.
"You look stunning in that dress." He complimented making my skin crawl.
"You darn bastard!" I scream, grabbing a cutlery knife, throwing it at his head. Sadly he caught it before it could even graze him, but not like it would do any damage to him anyway.
"What's with the hostility Isabella. Can we at least have a civil breakfast?" He smiled taking his seat.
"You attacked my pack!" I fumed. He attacked, killing countless of my family. The pack witches died, Dixie, Kael, Stefanie... Iris died, and it was all because of him.
"They wouldn't have just let you walk away with me without putting up a fight now, would they?" He chuckled, taking a bite from his steak. I wanted to gut open his throat and cut that fowl tongue of his. If only my magic wasn't binded right now.
"What do you want from me?" I ask him, desperate to know what his plans with me were.
"I promise to honestly answer all your questions if you take a seat." He stipulated, gesturing at the chair nearest to him.
I take my seat adamantly, my eyes not moving from him.
"You see Isabella, this doesn't need to be difficult, I promise everything will be fine. You just need to do what I tell you." He said biting from his breakfast. Well that would be a problem since I am no one's puppet. No one dictates what I do, let alone a vermin like him.
"What do you want from me?" I ask again, tired of playing these games.
"Nothing honestly, except your heart." He says with all seriousness and a lustful daze in his eyes that made me want to throw up.
He couldn't possibly be serious?
I scoffed at his ridiculous words. He had completely lost it, insanely out of his mind.
"You are crazy, I already have a mate, and you know very well who he is." I told him. I could see a flash of anger burn in his cold blue eyes but he quickly masked it up with a tight lip smile.
"Well, thanks to you my beloved mate, Sheila, is dead now. And thanks for helping me get rid of her by the way, I have been trying to figure out a way to get rid of that pest." He continued rambling to himself like a lunatic. I couldn't believe his words, how could he talk about Sheila like that, after how she betrayed her previous mate to be with him. He was truly a despicable monster.
"And I hear soon that Dimitri will be dead too, considering he and his pack is under a Blood curse." Rafael grins, casually sipping from his cup of tea. "How much time does he have left again? A day... or two⦠no?"
"How did you know that?" I asked, shocked. No one except the pack knew about the curse. It was kept hidden from outside ears because it would be an Achilles heel our enemies could exploit.
"Rubi. A very big talker she is." He continued eating then paused. "You know I always suspected Dimitri was hiding a secret within the walls of his pack. Once upon a time, Dimitri was the feared bloodlusted Lycan Alpha, he was a cold killer, he started countless wars but then all of a sudden he changed, he became so secretive, shutting off his pack from all outside ears...
Who would have suspected it was because he was cursed? So don't worry too much about him, he will be dead by the Blood moon and you will become all mine." He grinned like a wistful Cheshire cat.
"That will never happen. Dimitri will come and get me." He stifles a laugh at my words. Oh, how I would love to knock that silly grin off his face.
"Believe me I'm looking forward to that." He faked a smile. He was lying, I could tell for sure.
Deep down I could tell he was terrified of the mere thought of coming face to face with Dimitri, any smart person would.
"Lies." I laughed, leaning closer, looking into his electric blue orbs.
"And when my mate does come for me, he will rip out your heart and leave it for the birds of the night to feast on it." I told him with a smirk, I loved the look of anger that seized his face.
Before I knew it I was picked up and slammed hard against a wall with his sharp claws wrapped around my throat and his body pressed against mine tightly.
"You should be careful not to get me upset, Isabella. Because from where I see it, with your magic gone you are no different from a mortal. So insignificant. So fragile. So weak." He drew his lips closer to mine, so we are less than inches apart, breathing in my scent. I could feel his heavy breathing on my skin.
"You are tempting my wolf, Isabella." He barely whispered, claiming my lips in a firm kiss. I tried to push him off of me but he was far too strong to be moved, his well built body hovering over me forcefully. I bit his bottom lips fiercely, feeling the metallic taste of his blood flow in my tongue.
"Fuck!" He exclaimed, pulling away from me, his lips dripping blood. I spat out his blood from my mouth.
"Don't you ever try doing something like that again, or I swear it's going to be the last thing you do!" I angrily grit out. He glared at me, his eyes burning in anger.
"Heath!!!" Rafael growled, and the huge werewolf with the long hair rushed in.
"Get her out of my sight! And make sure she stays locked up in her Chambers. Do I make myself clear!" He orders the wolf, Heath. He was about to grab me when I threw him a sharp left hook across his face.
"Don't you ever dare fucking touch me!" I pulled away, heading to the door, with Heath trailing closely behind me.
He led me out and back to my cage.
I fell on the ground around a corner, running my fists through my hair with warm tears welling around my eyes, but I wouldn't let them drop. For the first time I felt powerless.
"Dimitri, please come quick." I whisper to myself.
*****
I laid on the bed not able to tell how long I was locked up in the room. It was driving me insane being locked up in here. I hated feeling like a prisoner. Oh how I wish I was back at the pack, before everything happened.
I couldn't reach Dimitri through our mate bond, it was like it was gone, as if there was nothing there. There was something definitely interfering with it. Everytime I reached out, all I could hear was an endless silence, but I could still feel him. I knew he was going crazy looking for me everywhere.
I quickly jerk off from the bed as I hear the door knob suddenly twist. Someone was trying to come in. The doors silently push open, allowing in an unfamiliar face, holding a covered tray.
"Whoa--" the stranger said, as he looked around the room with an open mouth. "This place looks really nice." The stranger spoke, with a thick British accent. He placed the tray on a drawer, as he carried on looking around.
"And who the bloody hell are you?" I questioned, narrowing my piercing gaze on him. He looked quite young, just a bit younger than I was.
He had short brown hair that mended really well with his face, with dark orbs for eyes and a calming smile.
"Oh sorry, I am such a bloody idiot, so my master always tells me. My name is Isaac, at your service. I have been assigned by the Alpha to be your servant." Isaac finished with a small bow and a warm smile. I eased up on him a little bit, he seemed to be harmless.
"I almost forgot, I heard breakfast ended badly, so I brought..." He walked over to the cover tray. "Fruits!" He said as he opened the tray, revealing a variety of fruits that just looked delicious, making my stomach grumble in excitement.
I first took a bite out of the red apple, it was juicy and refreshing.
"Can you help m---" I began saying but immediately stopped. Isaac placed a finger on his lips, gesturing his head towards the door.
'They were listening.' I understood his message. He was trying to tell me they were paying attention to our conversation.
"I really hope you enjoy the fruits, they were freshly picked by me, as an apology from the Alpha." Isaac said.
"He also wanted me to tell you to prepare for dinner with him later tonight." He added.
"You can tell your Alpha to forget about it. I'm not sitting on the same table with him." I shake my head, looking away.
"Please reconsider. He said that if you refused to eat with him, he would have my head instead for breakfast." Isaac said with a pleading look. I didn't want him to get into trouble just because I refused to have dinner with that monster, it wouldn't be fair to him and he seemed like he could be of help in getting out of here. But could he be trusted? I guess I will have to find out for myself.
"Okay, fine. Tell him I will come but I'm not dressing up for him." I told him.
"Done, I'll tell him that." He mutters before hastily leaving the room.
Hours later, I heard a knock on my door. It was Heath along with three other angry looking wolves. They were here to escort me to my dinner with that mongrel. I sigh just following their lead.
I was led down the stairs and into a candle lit room that smelled of roses. Ugh, the smell makes me feel sick.
The table was filled with various dishes and in a black suit at the end of the table was Rafael.
What was this? He thought he could win my heart with a candle light dinner? Let's just do this and get it over with, at least the food looks good.
I sigh, taking a seat. I wasn't dressed fancy, just a gray turtleneck long sleeve and blue jeans, I found clothes in the room's closet.
"I have to say I feel very sorry about how I reacted at breakfast. I don't know what happened to me. I just lost myself." He apologized pathetically. I just nodded while eating my dinner. I didn't want to waste any breath on him.
I continued appeasing my hunger, he just watched me intently with a weird smile on his face.
Okay now that I have had my fill, time for some answers.
"Where exactly are we?" I demanded, looking at him, hoping he would tell me the truth.
"Massachusetts. Don't worry Dimitri won't be able to find us here. Your aunt made very sure of that and she is the most powerful witch I have ever come across. well, second most powerful." he chuckled, sipping from his glass of red wine.
"Why are both of you working together?" I ask. This was something I just couldn't figure out. Why was a witch working with a wolf? What kind of agreement could they have?
"Delilah and I go way back, even before I killed my alpha and took over his pack. She helped me, using her dark magic to transform my wolf into a beast, in return my pack and I helped her. But now we have a new alliance that is a win for both of us. She gets to take what she wants from you and I get to keep you in the end." he finishes.
"Where is she?" I queried.
"She is closer than you think but don't worry love, I won't let her hurt you." he smiles.
"You are really foolish, huh? Delilah is loyal to no one, she will screw you and your alliance over in the end." I said to him, I knew my aunt, she wanted it all, she was that greedy and I knew she would inevitably stab Rafael in the back. I guess you could say the same for him. They both made the perfect match.
"I can assure you that won't happen." He grins. I was done with this, I just wanted to be far away from him before I did something I would regret later on.
"I wish I could say the dinner was lovely but you know. I would love to return to my prison now." I say.
"When will you realize Isabella, that this isn't a prison. It was your new home." He muttered, reaching out for my hand, but I pulled away.
"I know you must be confused but the old life you know is dead but I'm a very patient man. Soon you will start seeing me the same way I see you." He smiles crookedly. Well he can keep dreaming, because that surely will never happen. My heart already belonged to Dimitri, and nothing could stop me from loving him.
"Keep on dreaming." I tell him with a smile. Heath and some other wolves came in, escorting me back to my prison.
When I reached the room, it was dark. I immediately fell down on the bed, running my hands through my hair, drawing slow breaths.
'Something isn't right, Isabella.' the voice in my head warns. I was feeling the eeriness too.
I could feel the room grow colder, I felt a cold tingling sensation like there was an evil existence present in it, something unwonted was definitely around. I quickly jumped up, looking at a dark corner, where I could see the silhouette of a figure.
"Show yourself!!!" I demanded, my eyes narrowing on the dangerous intruder.
"How have you been, my little niece?" a voice called. It was enough to send my body numb. This voice has been a constant sound that haunted my nightmares for as long as I could remember.
Suddenly the candles in the room lit up by itself, the flames burning bright and allowing me to stare into a face I last saw sixteen years ago.
"Did you miss me, my little Bella." the voice spoke again and I was instantly abducted back to the memories of my past.
"Delilah." I called out her name, watching her wicked smirk grow even wider.
