Chapter 60

"I'm sorry too." I say and watch her walk away.

Caleb. You're going down.

Now

"I'm home!"

I shut the door behind me and drop my bag and jacket on the floor.

"Alex, put football on for me, will ya?"

"Sure," I shout back to Jayden, before grabbing the remote and turning the tv on. I zap trough the stations, when I see the local news popping up on the screen.

"The court date of the case surrounding Caleb Williams finally has an official date, exactly in one week the lawsuit will take place. Mr. Williams has been accused of kidnap, sexual assault, violence and attempted murder against Alexia Smith, a 17-year-old girl. The pair were dating a few years ago and according to a close source, it didn't end well. Alexia is going to testify against Caleb Williams and Mark Davidson. Mr. Davidson was dating Alexia's mother and has been accused of assaulting Alexia Smith and working together with Mr. Williams. Tomorrow we will have more information about the lawsuit."

"Did you find the football game? Hey, what are you watching?" Jay enters the room and walks towards me.

"You shouldn't be watching that," Jayden says and grabs the remote to turn the tv off.

"I didn't know it would be on the news. How long has it been on there?"

"It started about two days ago. I don't know how they found out."

"Oh god, I don't have time to worry about this as well. I've got to meet Connor's dad at his office. I'll be back in two hours-, wait, can you drive me?"

"Yeah of course. Where's Mason though? I haven't seen him after school anymore."

"He's meeting up with his dad. His dad wants to move back into his old house with Mason, so that's what they're talking about right now."

"Okay, where do I have to go to?"

I tell him the address and in ten minutes we're there. As soon as I walk into the building, I see Connor's dad waiting for me.

"Hello Mr. Simmons"

"Just call me Derek. Follow me, my office is this way."

We walk up the stairs and soon take place into an all glass office.

"We have a lot to go over in just a little amount of time. So let's start right away. I have to be present when you talk to the police, have you made an appointment yet?"

"Thank you, Mr. Sim-, uh, Derek. I'll see you in two days"

"Of course. Are you going to be okay waiting for Mason to come pick you?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine. Thank you."

"It's really no problem. Connor would be proud of you, Alex"

I turn around and look at Derek, "I hope so." I smile at him

I walk out of his office and after bumping into some glass doors, I finally make it outside. Mason isn't here yet, so I decide to text him.

There's a bench on the side of the building, so I take place there. I'm curious about what they decided to do. Move into the house next to us, or keep it like this?

Five minutes later and Mason's here. I get in the car and immediately ask him about it.

"And? What did you guys agree on doing?"

"I'm moving back with my dad"

"That's great! Are you happy about it?"

"Yeah, but I will miss you though," Mason smiles as he looks at me from the corner of his eyes. He takes my hand in his and kisses it.

"I'm literally one tree away," I smile

"And don't even think I won't be using that tree," he smirks as he looks at me again

"Eyes on the road dumbáss!" I shout as Mason pushes the brake as hard as he can. We slip and stop in the middle of the road.

"Okay, move, I'm driving."

"No, you're not"

"Mason," I raise my eyebrows at him and give him that type of look that says 'don't even dare question me and my patience.'

"Fine."

We switch seats and I start the car, "when are you and your dad moving back?"

"In two days, if that's okay with you."

"Of course Mase, I'm happy for you and you're not that far away."

"Nervous for the lawsuit?" Mason asks me carefully as we reach our street. I park the car and we get out.

"More about seeing Caleb and Mark again to be honest. But if you don't mind, I don't really wanna talk about it anymore."

"Of course, as long as you know that you can talk to me whenever you want to."

"By the way, tomorrow is Jake's birthday and we kind of have a tradition. Every year on his birthday we have game night." Mason says, he looks so excited for it

"Oh my god, that's amazing! Wait, board games or games games?"

"Old fashioned board games. And we're going."

"Héll yeah we are. I thought Jake was more of the partying type though."

"He does like to party; he just likes quality time with his friends more."

I suddenly stop walking when we reach the living room. I turn around and look at Mason.

"What is it? You have that kind of look on your face," he says as he steps closer and wraps his arms around me.

I look at him and sigh, "I know I said I didn't want to talk about it anymore, but there's something else you should know."

"Okay, go ahead."

"Well, Britney kind of told me something"

"What kind of something did she tell you?"

"She was indeed at Caleb's house, when I was being held there"

"What?!"

"Don't jump to conclusions just yet, Mason. She explained everything to me. Caleb asked her to help him with kidnapping me, so she could have you and he could have me. Britney refused and wanted to warn me, but he took me before she got the chance to tell me. She didn't know the address to his house, let alone how to get there. She wanted to tell the police, but Caleb took her to his house a few more times, trying to convince her to help him. When she refused again, he threatened her. Still, she didn't agree and he, uh, he raped her."

Mason's mouth opens and closes again, just like a fish.

"I don't really know what to say. Do you believe her?"

"Yes, she doesn't have a reason to lie about it. You don't just lie about that kind of things. She's also going to testify against him. I know you aren't fond of her, but please keep in mind that she's been through a lot as well."

"If you believe her, so do I."

I smile at him, before kissing him.

"Thank you."

Mason pulls back and whispers to me, "you're too good for this world, Lex"

"God, I didn't know I had ordered a dying cat choir." Jake mutters

"Aw, you just shut up. You know you love us." Tyler teases Jake as he winks at him

"Watch out Tyler, your boyfriend might get jealous of us." Jake teases back

"I know you want to be more than just friends Jake, but unfortunately we can't. I just don't like you that way and I am getting slightly tired of rejecting you over and over again. And as you said, I have a boyfriend."

I burst out in laughter at Jake's offended expression, "what about all those times we've been together? You can't deny the chemistry between us both"

Everyone bursts out in laughter at Jake's and Tyler's conversation.

"If you two love birds are done flirting with each other, can we please go back to playing monopoly. I'm winning and your little distraction act is not working on me." Daniel interrupts.

"Fine, fine. But come on, you gotta admit that you were a bit jealous." Tyler smirks

"I thought Tyler was the sweetest one of your group, turns out he's just like the rest with his smirking ways." I mumble, making some people chuckle

"You've got a lot to learn about us yet, Little A." Jake smiles mischievously

"I don't think I want to find out." I mumble

"Oh, I know you don't want to." Mason smirks as he kisses me on my cheek.

The plan was to update this chapter next week, but I couldn't wait any longer. So here it is, I hope you enjoy!

This book is slowly coming to an end. I think it has 3-7 more chapters left *cries internally*. I will put the words *THE END* at the end of the last chapter and I will clearly say when it's finished, so everyone knows when it's officially finished!!

We're already on chapter 60 guys, I never thought we would get this far :').
