Chapter 948
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 948:
âMiss Johns? What do you think of what I just said?â The designer before Madisyn raised his glass, repeating his earlier words.
Madisyn snapped back to the moment, sensing that something was off. With an apologetic smile, she excused herself. âI have something to attend to. Please excuse me.â
The designer, momentarily stunned, quickly nodded, âOf course, go ahead.â
Madisyn made her way toward Evita.
âMadisyn.â
Just as she reached the staircase, Viennaâs voice rang out from behind her. âIâve bought the medicine for relieving drunkenness. Where are you off to?â
âViennaâ¦â Madisyn began to explain, but before she could finish, a startled cry from Evita interrupted her.
Both Madisyn and Vienna turned to see Evita. She was standing among a group of designers, her white gown marred by a large red wine stain on her shoulder. It was clear something unexpected had happened. Concerned voices surrounded her, asking if she was alright, while her designer friends offered to escort her to the lounge to change. Grateful for the attention, Evita smiled softly.
âI apologize for the public embarrassment. Thank you for offering to accompany me.â
Evita and her friends made their way to the second-floor lounge. Madisyn turned back to Vienna. âI just had this feeling, like something was going to happen, so I wanted to check on Uncle.â
Vienna, who had been gone for a while, understood the concern in Madisynâs eyes. âI know, but Iâm back now.â
Vienna smiled and prepared to give the medicine to Luka. Madisyn nodded. âThen I wonât go up.â
âAlright.â
Vienna agreed before heading upstairs with the medicine. By then, the banquet was still underway, and Marcus was taking a break. The atmosphere in the banquet hall remained bright, with soft, mellow background music playing.
Suddenly, a womanâs scream echoed from the second-floor corridor, drawing everyoneâs attention. The scream was followed by sounds of chaos, and Madisynâs ears caught someone mention Lukaâs name.
Something was wrong! Madisynâs instincts kicked in. They all rushed toward the source of the noise and found Evita standing at the doorway, her gaze fixed inside the lounge. The scene within left everyone in shock.
Inside the lounge, a well-built woman lay disheveled, her eyes half-closed, hands bound tightly with a suit jacket. In front of her, Lukaâs shirt and tie were disarrayed, his face flushed with the redness of intoxication, clearly on the verge of doing something inappropriate.
Gasp!
