Chapter 905
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 905:
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. The sound pulled Evita back to reality. She walked to the door and opened it, only to find Lina standing outside.
She was a little familiar with Lina, so she asked, âWhy are you here?â
A smile immediately appeared on Linaâs pretty face. âI came here for a business meeting today, and when I saw the client off, I saw you coming down from the top floor. The room on the top floor is Mr. Kleinâs private room. Did you see him?â
Lina leaned in slightly, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. Yesterday, she had been enjoying Lukaâs mishap when Madisyn interrupted, leaving her irritated. She didnât expect Evita to have already hooked up with Andrew.
Evita knew Lina misunderstood the situation, but she didnât bother to explain. âItâs a coincidence.â
âOh, Evita, you are exceptional and knowledgeable. You and Mr. Klein are a perfect match. Madisyn canât even hold a candle to you,â Lina said with an ingratiating smile.
âWeâre just friends.â
Evitaâs words carried a calculated vagueness, each syllable carefully chosen to leave just enough room for interpretation.
Lina nodded and replied, âI understand. Donât worry, Evita. I can keep a secret. If you need anything, feel free to ask me anytime.â

A light flickered in Evitaâs eyes. âDo you haveâ¦?â
Lina blinked, taken aback by the sudden question. She hesitated for a moment before asking, âHow much do you need?â
When she heard it was only two hundred thousand dollars, Lina generously took a card out of her wallet, which had three hundred thousand dollars in it.
After receiving the money, Evita prepared to make the payment to see her father. But before she could leave, her mother suddenly called.
âEvita, have you been busy lately?â Her motherâs voice was old and careworn, yet still gentle.
âYes, Mom, Iâm a bit busy. Whatâs wrong?â
Her mother paused before saying, âThe hospital requires payment. Have you found a job yet? Can you lend me two hundred thousand dollars? Iâll pay you back once Iâm discharged.â
After what happened to Evitaâs father, her motherâs medical expenses were no longer covered.
Evitaâs grip on her phone tightened as she went silent for a while.
Her mother quickly added, âItâs okay if you donât have the money. Iâll borrow from someone else. I know youâve just started working. You probably need money for yourself, too.â
Evita felt a pang of guilt and frustration at her motherâs words.
âMom, Iâm so sorry. But I promise to pay it as soon as I have the money.â
