Chapter 523

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 523:

Observing the despondent expressions of the YM Club captain and members, Madisyn reassured them, “Don’t worry, I’ll call someone.” They nodded in agreement, fully aware the odds were heavily against them. A day ago, they might have managed to find someone new, but with the race on the horizon, who would be willing to join them now?

“I’ll join you.” A powerful, commanding voice broke through the tension. Everyone turned to see Andrew striding toward them.

Waylon’s face lit up with joy as he rushed over to give him a warm embrace. “Andrew, you showed up right when we needed you.”

“Mr. Klein?” The captain and the other team members exchanged surprised glances, but they were aware of Andrew’s impressive skills.

“That’s right.” Waylon couldn’t hide his excitement. “You’ve probably seen racing before—he’s way more skilled than I am! With him on our team, we’re definitely going to clinch first.” He looked at Andrew, his eyes shining with anticipation. After all these years, his dear friend was finally able to race alongside him again.

But Madisyn, on the other hand, sat with her head down. Anxiety gnawed at her. Andrew? What was he doing here? No, she couldn’t let him find out she was here.

The captain was equally thrilled. “Let’s go over our strategy quickly. This is our ace racer. Don’t underestimate her just because she’s a girl; she’s truly incredible. Our plan is to let her take the lead while the rest of us provide support.”

“Seriously? She’s that impressive?” Andrew’s attention was completely focused on Madisyn. A cold sweat broke out on her forehead.

Why did she have the unsettling feeling that Andrew had figured out who she was?

Waylon picked up on the tension as well. Oh no, he couldn’t let Andrew realize that this was Madisyn; he would surely be furious.

Without missing a beat, Waylon laughed. “Oh yes, she’s a great friend of mine. She’s just as fantastic at racing.”

Madisyn shot a glance at Waylon. Did he know she was Rosemarie? He had to be joking.

Andrew nodded in agreement. “Alright, let’s go with your original plan.”

With Andrew joining, the plan shifted slightly, but they were more thrilled because his presence boosted their chances of winning the championship.

The race was about to start. The first event was the team race, featuring five competing teams. The racers took their spots. Wesley settled into his car and spotted the YM Club vehicles. Were they truly participating? It looked like they had managed to gather enough members.

The crowd buzzed with excitement, cheering for their favorite teams.

“Go HB Club! You’re always number one!”

With the crack of a starting gun, the cars took off, shadows darting across the track.

Wesley from the HB Club led the pack, with Jada trailing closely behind. The HB Club had the most cutting-edge cars and drivers with top-notch skills. It was no surprise that everyone expected them to claim first place again this time around.

In the observation room, someone commented with a hint of envy, “Mercer, your team is as strong as ever.”

Mercer grinned. “These kids put in the hard work and practice constantly. They’ve earned it.” He wouldn’t pretend to be modest—there was no room for false humility in racing. His gaze drifted to Hamlin, sitting not far off. Mercer hadn’t expected him to show up. Hamlin, seated in his wheelchair, watched the leaderboard on the big screen. Despite the lines etched into his weathered face, there was a gleam of hope still shining in his eyes.

Mercer’s lips curled into a sneer. Hamlin was fooling himself if he believed his team stood a chance of snatching first place.

Soon one of the racers caught up to Jada, nearly closing in on second place. But then Wesley unexpectedly hit the brakes, creating a perfect opening. As the racer attempted to overtake, he was knocked off the track at the curve—Wesley’s doing. Jada seized the moment and overtook Wesley, claiming first place.

It was clear to everyone what had just happened. The underhanded tactics of the HB Club were downright disgusting.

Everyone was gunning for first place, but the way they went about it was just plain ruthless.

Mercer didn’t see anything wrong with what they’d done. In fact, his eyes gleamed with self-satisfaction. There was no way anyone was overtaking them. He spoke into his walkie-talkie, “Well done, Jada.”

Jada smiled from inside her car. That top spot was as good as hers. It belonged to the HB Club. Her and Wesley’s teamwork was practically unbeatable. Anyone daring to overtake Wesley would just get shoved out of the way by their dirty tricks.

Gradually, murmurs of dissatisfaction spread through the observation room. But the HB Club held so much power that no one dared to voice their complaints out loud. Hamlin’s voice cut through the room coldly. “Your team is just as disgraceful as you are.”

Mercer shot back, “You’re just jealous. If you had the nerve, you’d be doing the same.” Hamlin didn’t respond after that.

Meanwhile, Madisyn and Andrew had managed to secure third and fourth positions. Madisyn was now aiming to overtake Wesley.

Wesley eased off the gas as Madisyn pressed the accelerator, smoothly passing him without much effort.

Mercer narrowed his eyes. “Ha! That YM Club racer is about to get knocked out just like all the others.”

The upcoming curve was the perfect spot for overtaking, a place where countless legendary moves had been made over the years.

Madisyn’s car surged forward as she tried to pass Jada. But in the very next moment, Wesley sped up too, aiming to bump her out of the race at the curve. Mercer’s grin grew wider. He was sure the YM Club member was about to be wiped out.
