Chapter 511
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 511:
A young boy entered the reception room of Edge Entertainment, guided by Madisynâs assistant. The dusty little boy scanned the room with curious eyes. The upscale, brightly lit reception area and the unfamiliar antique decor captivated his attention.
As a student, a flicker of greedy desire sparkled in his eyes. Surely, taking one of these antiques home could fetch a lot of money, right? He had heard that certain antiques could be valued in the millions. Millionsâsuch an amount was beyond his imagination. That would mean his family would never have to fret about food or clothing again.
Yet the boy was quite perceptive. He quickly gathered himself and addressed the elegant woman on the sofa. âAre you the one who supported us?â
âYes, please take a seat,â Madisyn replied warmly. The boy eased into the seat across from her, quickly launching into his complaints. âMiss Johns, I was innocent! I fought with others because they were pushing me.â He had lost his sponsorship because of the fight.
Tearfully, he continued, âMiss Johns, Iâm truly grateful for your support, but my family canât survive without it. Please help me. Saving a life is the greatest kindness.â For someone so young to articulate such thoughts, it was evident that Betsey had taught him well.
Madisynâs voice remained calm. âBut Iâve heard you were bullying others during those fights. Whatâs the truth?â
The boyâs expression shifted slightly, but he firmly replied, âThatâs not true at all! I would never bully anyone. Miss Johns, donât believe those lies. Some people are just jealous of my sponsorship.â He stubbornly maintained his innocence.
âOh? So youâre claiming all of you are innocent and wronged?â

âYes, weâre all wronged. Weâre just students; how could we possibly bully anyone?â The boy gazed at Madisyn with big, pleading eyes. âMiss Johns, could you please keep supporting us? We wonât survive otherwise.â
Madisyn responded, âI understand. But business is challenging right now, and funds are limited. I can continue to support someone, but I can only choose one.â
The boy hesitated, considering his options. âHow about this? Go back and talk it over with the others, then come back and let me know who needs help.â
âMiss Johns, canât you help all of us?â The boyâs expression became even more sorrowful.
âHonestly, I canât. Iâm stretching my budget to support you. Do you understand? If not, I wonât be able to support any of you,â Madisyn explained.
The boy paused, contemplating. Madisyn added, âThe person I continue to support will receive a better education. Theyâll have the chance to work in our company, and Iâll help them become a successful professional.â
The boy felt tempted. If he secured this sponsorship, he could work at this company.
âMiss Johns, I really donât think itâs necessary to talk to the others about this. Iâm the one who needs your support the most.â He gazed at Madisyn, desperation etched on his face. âMy family has nothing. My parents are unwell and canât work, and my grandparents have passed away. At least the others have someone who can contribute.â
âIs that true?â
âAbsolutely, Miss Johns.â The boy eagerly expressed his sincerity. âIf I get the chance to be here, Iâll work hard for you. Iâll do whatever you need.â
âThatâs great. But what about the others? If they have problems, our company wonât function properly. Not only will you miss out on working here, but we could also go bankrupt. Businesses are failing left and right these days.â
âMiss Johns, donât worry. Iâll take care of it,â the boy assured confidently.
âThen I trust you,â Madisyn replied with a smile.
The assistant led the boy out of the room.
When she returned, she looked impressed by Madisyn. âMiss Johns, youâre incredible. This means we only have to support one student.â
However, Madisyn curled her lips into a cold smile. âI wonât support any of these kinds of students.â
The assistant looked confused. âWhat do you mean, Miss Johns?â
âJust wait and watch. These students are inherently selfish. They wonât simply let the boy take the opportunity,â Madisyn said calmly.
The assistant began to understand a bit more. She pulled out her iPad. âMiss Johns, I just saw the news. A lot of people know these students are here. Everyone is waiting to see how you respond.â
Madisyn took a quick look at it. Indeed, the news article read, âThese unfortunate students have journeyed far to express their gratitude to Madisyn. How will the new Charity Angel treat them? Surely, she will ensure their comfort. We hope Madisyn can nurture the future leaders of our nation.â The comments were overwhelmingly positive.
While it seemed beneficial, it actually placed Madisyn in a moral quandary.
This idea was, in fact, hidden.
âMiss Riggs, we followed your instructions. Now Madisyn is really in a bind. If she neglects these students, sheâll face severe backlash. If she helps them, weâll reveal their flaws, and sheâll still be criticized for being foolish,â Betsey said to Jada in the CFOâs office of Gentle Fragrance Company.
Her eyes sparkled with admiration. She had always considered herself clever until she met Jada. With just one move, Jada had managed to corner Madisyn effectively.
