Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1415: (END)
The administrator stepped in, ousted the consul, revised the projectâs framework, and declared the Klein Group as the new partner.
No one had expected that, after all these years, Collier would emerge as the ultimate beneficiary. His reputation skyrocketed, and invitations to high-profile banquets flooded in.
At one of these gatherings, Collier appeared with Corinna at his side. Shaw was also present. The moment he spotted Collier, envy and resentment darkened his expression.
âMr. Klein, youâre truly thriving in both love and business. But just recently, I happened to see this stunning companion of yours dining at a romantic restaurantâwith another man. Sometimes, things arenât quite what they seemâ¦â
He trailed off, but his insinuation was unmistakableâCollier was being deceived, and his confidence was misplaced.
Corinna instinctively wanted to defend herself, but before she could speak, Collier placed a hand in front of her, halting her. He turned to Shaw with a faint, knowing smile.
âMr. Odom, you sound like youâre speaking from personal experience. I appreciate the advice, but luck has always been on my sideâI donât need your lessons.â
The moment the words left Collierâs mouth, realization dawned on Shaw. Collier was mocking his recent failure at the southern border.
Shawâs composure slipped as frustration got the better of him. Without thinking, he lashed out. âAt least Iâm not grooming a girl for my future lover and too cowardly to admit it!â
A murmur rippled through the surrounding guests. Unfazed, Collier casually placed a hand on Corinnaâs shoulder. She didnât flinch. After years by his side, his touch was familiar, and she instinctively played along.
âWhatâs there to deny?â Collier said smoothly. âYouâre absolutely rightâthatâs exactly my intention. Corinna, tell him, would you rather be desired by me or by someone else?â
Without missing a beat, Corinna responded, âOf course, you, sir. In this world, you matter to me the most. Your affection is something I consider a blessing.â
A flicker of satisfaction crossed Collierâs face. His lips curled in the barest hint of a smile as he arched a brow at Shaw. âDid you hear that?â Then, turning back to Corinna, he added, âI brought you here to enjoy yourself, but I wasnât expecting such an eyesore. Letâs goâIâll take you somewhere better for dinner.â With that, he led her away from the banquet without another glance at Shaw.

Outside the grand hall, Corinna spoke, âIs it really okay for us to leave before the banquet has even started?â
Collier chuckled. âThe host and I are close. He wonât mind. Instead of worrying about that, focus on what youâd like for dinner. And after that, youâre coming home with me to meet my parents.â
She blinked in surprise. âMeet your parents?â
Collier nodded. âOf course. Youâre all grown up now, and I did say I was grooming you for my future lover. Canât go back on my word, can I?â
Corinna was momentarily speechless. She had assumed his words at the banquet were just for show, never expecting him to actually mean them.
Collier studied her reaction before asking, âIs that not what you want?â
She quickly shook her head. âItâs not that⦠I just never thought it was a possibility.â
Collier said, âWhatâs wrong with that? I like you, and Iâm giving you permission to think that way. From now on, you can. Come on, letâs go eat. Afterward, weâll visit my parents. You donât realize it, but my mom has been eager to meet you for a long time.â
As their voices trailed off, Madisyn and Andrew stepped out from behind a flower bed.
âThat son of oursâusing me as an excuse again,â Madisyn said, unable to suppress a laugh. They had arrived at the banquet just in time to overhear their sonâs conversation, and she found it amusing.
For the longest time, she had assumed Collier and Corinna had already confessed their feelings to each other. She never expected him to only say it today. He certainly had patience.
Andrew, on the other hand, had little interest in the matter. Now that he had more free time, all he cared about was spending it with Madisyn.
He stepped closer, his eyes glinting. âSweetheart, you once said that when our son was settled, weâd travel the world. How about I book the tickets now?â
Madisyn was reminded of her promise to Andrew. She glanced at him, the warmth in his gaze stirring something deep within her. Happiness swelled in her chest. âOkay!â
