Chapter 1402
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1402:
Looking at the sincere admiration in Calanâs eyes, Lilyana thought of the decision she had made on the first day she met him: to study hard and surpass him.
But now⦠that goal no longer mattered. Standing here, sharing the top spot with Calan, she felt nothing but pride. She was happy that she wasnât alone in this, that she had someone pushing forward beside her.
With the release of the results came the inevitableâthe parent-teacher conference.
In their household, Madisyn and Andrew took turns attending Lilyanaâs and Collierâs meetings. Since Madisyn had attended last time, it was Andrewâs turn this round.
Back at home, Madisyn pulled a tray of freshly baked cookies from the oven, already picturing how they would enjoy them together when Andrew and the kids returned.
Suddenly, the shrill ring of her phone cut through the air, and she quickly set down the tray, answering with a tap.
âHello, is this Collierâs parent? Iâm his homeroom teacher. Do you have a moment to come to the school? Thereâs something regarding Collierâs academics and discipline that I need to discuss with you.â
Madisyn furrowed her brows and immediately agreed. âIâll be there right away.â
Something about the teacherâs tone didnât sit right with her. This wasnât good news.
Madisyn drove straight to the school, parked, and wasted no time finding Collierâs teacher.
âPlease, may I ask what it is that you need to talk to me about?â
The teacher pursed her lips and handed Madisyn Collierâs attendance record for the past week. âI was away for a training course last week. When I returned and reviewed the studentsâ progress, I noticed Collier hadnât attended class at all. He claimed he had taken leave, but I never received a request. After looking into it, I uncovered some concerning matters. Please take a look at these photos.â
Tension tightened in Madisynâs chest as she reached for the offered pictures.
Later that evening, as the children returned home, Madisyn sat waiting in the living room. The moment she heard the car pull up in the courtyard, she straightened. Lilyana and Collier walked in together.

Madisynâs gaze locked onto Collier as he walked in, and she held up a hand to stop him in his tracks. âSon, come here for a moment. Mom has something to ask you.â
There was a slight edge to Madisynâs voice. While Collier remained oblivious, Lilyana noticed it immediately.
Sensing something was off, she trailed behind her younger brother, settling onto the opposite sofa, curiosity flickering in her eyes as she waited to hear what their mother had to say.
Collier, still unaware of the tension in the air, looked puzzled. âMommy, whatâs up?â
Madisynâs expression didnât waver. She lowered her eyes and tapped her phone, pulling up the photos. Without a word, she turned the screen toward him.
âSon, I want an explanation.â
The moment Collier saw the images, his pupils shrank.
His gaze darted from the phone to his motherâs unwavering stare, and just like that, he knewâshe had found out everything.
Lilyana leaned in for a closer look.
