Chapter 1388
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1388:
On the vast, sun-drenched lawn, six-year-old Nana and three-year-old Collier played with boundless energy, their laughter echoing through the estate.
As the sun climbed higher, the Klein familyâs butler stepped outside, his expression warm as he called out to the children. âNana, Collier, itâs time for lunch. You can play more after you eat.â
âOkay!â Nana chirped, always mindful of good manners. She knew that when it was time to eat, she shouldnât keep others waiting.
Turning to Collier, who was still crouched on the grass, lost in whatever adventure his little mind had conjured up, she gently stroked his hair. âCollier, the butler says itâs time for lunch. We can play more later.â
âOkay!â
Hand in hand, the two small figures made their way toward the butler, their bond undeniable.
As he watched them, the butlerâs smile deepened with affection, and he led them to the dining room.
At the dining table, Damari sat at the head, his presence as strong as ever, while Andrew and Madisyn sat beside him. Across from them, Nana and Collier took their seats.
Looking at his well-mannered great-grandchildren, Damariâs eyes gleamed with warmth. âTodayâs dishes include many of your favorites. Make sure to eat plenty.â
âThank you, Great-Grandpa!â Nana and Collier chorused, their voices sweet and clear.
Madisyn gazed at them fondly, her heart swelling with love. But as the meal continued, she began to notice something unusual.
Nana, now in the senior class of kindergarten, had just finished a three-day group activity at school the day before. Before this activity, she had never been a picky eater. But now, she carefully picked at her plate, eating only the vegetables the nanny had served, leaving the fish, shrimp, eggs, and meat untouched.
Nana was already small for her age, and unlike Collierâs round, chubby cheeks, hers were noticeably less plump. How could she possibly get by on just vegetables without eating any meat?
Gently, Madisyn asked, âSweetheart, why arenât you eating your meat? Why are you only eating vegetables?â

At her question, the table fell silent, and all eyes turned to Nanaâs plate. Sure enough, just as Madisyn had said, the little girl hadnât taken a single bite of meat.
Damari frowned in concern. âDidnât you love shrimp? Is something wrong with todayâs shrimp?â
Damari had tasted the dishes himself and found them excellent. His brows furrowed slightly as he turned to the servant. âGo to the kitchen and check if the recipe has changed.â
He assumed that, perhaps with age, his sense of taste had dulled, and the children could detect a subtle difference in the food that he couldnât.
But before the servant could leave, Nana quickly reached out and grabbed her hand.
âMaâam, thereâs no need to ask. The food is delicious as always, butâ¦â She hesitated for a moment before continuing, âI heard that eating more vegetables and less meat is better for us, so I donât want to eat too much meat.â
Nana was always quick to act on what she learned. After hearing her kindergarten teacher say this to the other kids in class, she took the advice to heart and started following it herself.
