Waylon studied her face intently. Once their families knew, there would be no turning back. But seeing Evie’s determination, he knew this was a moment he couldn’t let slip through his fingers. “Alright, let’s head back to the Johns Manor right now.”

Later, Madisyn’s phone lit up with Elaine’s call.

“Madisyn, if you and Andrew are free, come home. Mom needs to discuss something important…”

As Elaine revealed the news about Waylon and Evie’s relationship, Madisyn exchanged glances with Andrew, who sat across from her. With the phone on speaker, they both absorbed Elaine’s words in stunned silence.

“We’ll be right there, Mom.”

After ending the call, they wasted no time getting on the road.

Madisyn tried to rein in her racing thoughts. Upon arrival, her eyes immediately sought out the couple, finding them seated together in the living room.

They sat close, facing Elaine. As Madisyn and Andrew entered, they caught sight of Evie accepting a perfectly ripe mango from Waylon’s hand, her smile radiating warmth. The tenderness in Waylon’s attentiveness left Madisyn utterly astounded.
