Chapter 1345
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1345:
Waylon stared at the message, a wave of realization crashing over him. So, the name was fake.
Did Evie know?
He wasnât sure. But one way or another, he was going to find out. Closing his phone, he paced the room, his thoughts racing. Finally, he grabbed his car keys, stepped out the door, and drove straight to where Laurinda lived.
Waylon had to find Laurin and get to the bottom of things, needing to understand what had really happened between him and Evie back then. If he was truly into men, why had he pursued Evie? The thought troubled Waylon. If Evie ever learned the truth, it would break her heart, right?
Waylon was lost in thought along the way. Before he knew it, he had arrived, pulling up outside Laurindaâs apartment complex. But when he was about to get out, his gaze landed on Laurinda approaching from across the street, with a strikingly beautiful young woman beside him. They were both dressed in uniforms, one in a manâs and the other in a womanâs. Their closeness was undeniable, and their body language was so natural and affectionate that anyone watching would immediately assume they were a couple.
Waylon was so angry that he clenched his fists tightly and slammed the steering wheel hard.
âHow could Laurin tell Jenny he likes men?â In a surge of anger, he took out his phone, his fingers tightening around it as he aimed the camera. He wanted to take photos and let Jenny see them for herself to understand what kind of person Laurin really was.
But when he was ready to capture the moment, Laurinda lowered her head in front of the young woman, who immediately reached out and took off her wig. Instantly, her medium-length black hair cascaded behind her back.
Waylonâs eyes widened in shock. He blinked rapidly, even rubbing them before opening them wide again as if trying to ensure he wasnât imagining things. For a moment, he was so stunned that he completely forgot about taking photos.
Laurinda and the young woman headed straight toward where Waylonâs car was, talking and laughing happily. They were so absorbed in their conversation that they didnât even glance in Waylonâs direction. They had no idea that the man sitting in the car next to them was Waylon.
Waylon snapped out of his daze and quickly put away his phone. His car door was slightly ajar, allowing him to catch snippets of Laurinda and the young womanâs conversation.
Laurinda said, âIndeed, being a handsome man has a price to pay. Taking off this wig makes my whole head feel relaxed.â
The young woman was tidying the wig in her hand when she heard Laurindaâs words. She teased, âWhatâs wrong? Handsome, are you tired? Do you regret pretending to be my boyfriend?â
Laurinda immediately shook his head vigorously and replied, âNo, no, no. How could I regret it? Actually, itâs an honor to be the boyfriend of such a beautiful, gentle, and adorable young lady.â
The conversation between Laurinda and the young woman clearly reached Waylonâs ears, leaving his mind in chaos. Why did Laurin have long hair and a sweet, feminine voice? And what did they mean by pretending to be a boyfriend? Waylon wasnât a fool. Based on everything, if he still couldnât recognize that Laurin was a woman, he was really hopeless.
If Laurin was truly a woman, everything he had assumed about her relationship with Evie was thrown into question. There was no way anything could have happened between them.
