Chapter 1344
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1344:
Jenny straightened her shoulders, determination flickering in her eyes.
âOf course! I came all the way here. Iâm not letting one bad moment ruin my night.â
They made their way into the square, finding a decent spot to watch the show. But despite their words, neither of them truly shook off their gloom.
Jenny sighed.
âI was planning to buy some fireworks and set them off myself after this, but⦠forget it. Waylon, letâs go get a couple of drinks instead.â
At the bar, after downing three glasses of wine, Jenny finally pulled out her phone again, her fingers hovering over the screen.
âCome on, Waylon. Look at this guy. If you ever run into someone like him again, you have to introduce us.â
She pushed the phone toward Waylon, her tone insistent. Waylon took the phone from her, glancing at the screen with mild curiosity. But the second he saw the photoâJenny standing beside Laurinâhis expression turned ice-cold.
âHe lied to you.â
If Laurin was telling the truthâthat he only liked menâthen how had he ended up with Evie?
âJenny, youâve been deceived. I know him. He doesnât like men.â
Jenny set down her glass, confusion flickering across her face.
âThen why would he lie to me?â Her mind raced through her interaction with Laurin, searching for any sign of deceit. But she shook her head.
âWaylon, I donât think he was lying. And he had no reason to.â If Laurin liked women, wouldnât it have made more sense for him to let Jenny throw herself at him?
Waylon knew Laurin wasnât exactly loyal in relationships. The excuse he had given Jenny didnât make sense.
There was a missing piece to this puzzle, and Waylon intended to find it. He frowned, deep in thought.

âBefore today, I was certain Laurin liked women. But now, Iâm not so sure.â
After parting ways with Jenny, Waylon couldnât shake the feeling that something was off.
He stood in the courtyard of his home, a cigarette between his fingers, lost in thought. Dane spotted him and walked over, frowning.
âDid you forget what Mom said? No smoking.â
Waylon sighed and stubbed it out, glancing at his brother.
âSorry. Dane, can you help me find someone?â
âWho?â Dane asked.
Without a word, Waylon sent him Laurindaâs photo.
âHis name is Laurin Tanico. I need to ask him something.â
Dane studied the image before nodding.
âIâll track him down as soon as possible.â
âThanks, Dane.â
A day later, Waylon received a reply.
âThe Laurin you mentioned doesnât exist. But there is a Laurinda who looks exactly like this guyâ¦â
