Chapter 1341
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1341:
âMom, Evieâs performing at a televised New Yearâs Eve celebration. She should make it back just in time for dinner.â
Relief flickered across Elaineâs face, though she sighed.
âThat girl works so hard once she gets started. When she gets here, weâll have to make sure she eats plenty.â
As evening fell, the feast was finally ready. Elaine turned to Waylon.
âQuick, bring me a plate.â
Waylon nodded and carefully carried a plate out. Just as he stepped into the dining area, his gaze lifted, and there she wasâEvie, guided inside by Madisyn.
Seeing Evie, Waylon came to an abrupt halt, causing Elaine to nearly collide with his back.
âWaylon, why did you stop so suddenly? Be careful. I almost ran into you and spilled something hot!â Elaine huffed, startled. Relieved she hadnât actually crashed into him, she steadied herself.
Waylonâs and Evieâs gazes crossed for a fleeting moment before Evie quickly looked away, heading toward the restroom with Madisyn to wash their hands before dinner.
Waylon withdrew his gaze and muttered an explanation to Elaine.
âSorry, Mom. I just got lost in thought for a second.â
Elaine shot him a strange look.
âYouâre not a kid anymore, yet youâre still so absentminded sometimes!â
At that moment, Andrew happened to walk by, carrying two plates. He set them down without making a sound, each of his movements smooth, poised, and effortlessly refined.
Elaineâs eyes flicked between them, and she couldnât help but remark, âYou and Andrew are about the same age, yet thereâs such a stark difference between you two. Is it because you donât have a girlfriend yet?â
She blinked playfully.

âLook at our familyâeveryone has a special someone except for you. Waylon, I know I said I wouldnât meddle in your personal life, but if you canât find someone you like, I could keep an eye out for someone nice. What do you think?â
Waylon dismissed the idea without hesitation.
âMom, Iâm not thinking about that right now.â
Evie emerged from the restroom just in time to overhear their conversation. Lowering her eyes, she kept silent.
Glenn, standing beside Elaine, slung an arm around her shoulders.
âAlright, honey, letâs not pressure him. Waylon has his own plans. Letâs eat first.â
âAlright, alright, no more talk. Letâs eat.â
With that, the family moved on from the subject.
After dinner, Evie helped clear the dishes while Waylon wiped the table. As he reached the spot where Evie had been sitting, her phone, resting on the table, suddenly lit up.
A message from Laurin popped up: âHey, happy New Yearâs Eve, babe! Want to watch fireworks?â
The message was followed by an address.
