Chapter 1335
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1335:
But to his surprise, Evie took a small step back.
âI appreciate the invitation, Mr. Salazar, but Iâve had enough to drink tonight. Perhaps another time. My treat.â Her voice was polite yet firm, leaving no room for argument. She attempted to step past him.
Carleigh hadnât anticipated rejection. His smile faltered, and irritation crept in.
âEvie, you donât seem drunk to me,â he said, his voice sharpening.
âCome on, just one drink. You donât really have a choice.â As he reached out to grab her wrist, Evieâs breath hitched, and she quickly stepped aside, putting distance between them.
âMr. Salazar,â she said, her eyes dark with warning, âplease mind your manners.â
âRelax. I know what Iâm doing. Iâm just showing you how much I like you, Evie. If youâre smart, you wonât reject me.â
Carleigh grabbed Evieâs wrists and pressed her against the wall. A wave of fear and disgust surged through her. She struggled, but Carleigh was stronger, his left hand holding her wrists while his right hand covered her mouth.
Just then, a voice echoed down the hallway.
âSorry to interrupt.â
Evieâs heart leapt at the sound. She turned her head, eyes widening with relief as she saw Waylon standing a few feet away.
Carleigh stiffened. His expression shifted instantly, his usual smugness replaced by forced politeness. But he didnât let go of Evie.
âMr. Johns,â Carleigh said, forcing a smile.
âI should be the one apologizing. Weâll take this elsewhere.â He made a move to drag Evie with him.
Waylon calmly flicked the ash from his cigarette.
âWait.â

Carleigh halted, turning slightly.
âMr. Johns, is there something else?â Waylon stepped closer, his gaze moving from Carleigh to Evie.
âI donât interfere in other peopleâs fun,â he said coolly.
âBut these things are best when mutual. She doesnât seem very willing, does she?â
Carleigh let out an awkward laugh.
âYouâve got it all wrong. Sheâs just shy. Right, Evie?â He glanced at Evie, attempting to make light of the situation.
âThis is just between usâa bit of fun.â
Waylonâs expression remained unreadable. He looked at Evie again, his gaze indifferent as if he couldnât see the silent plea in her eyes.
âAlright,â he finally said.
âIf sheâs here willingly, then I wonât interfere. Enjoy your evening.â
Carleigh beamed.
âThank you, Mr. Johns! Weâll be on our way then.â
Carleighâs fingers dug into Evieâs arm like iron manacles, his intent clear as he tried to drag her away. Terror gripped Evieâs heart as she watched her last chance at salvation begin to slip through her fingers. With desperate abandon, she thrashed against his hold.
