Chapter 1306
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1306:
At Denbyâs residence, Denby widened his eyes as he watched Andrew follow a maid inside, his expression cold as ice.
âWhoâs pissed you off now? Youâre still mad even after coming here? Am I your punching bag?â
Andrew strode straight up to Denby, asking bluntly, âDid you arrange for someone to investigate Madisyn?â
Denbyâs mood soured immediately.
âWhat the hell are you saying? Me, arrange for someone to investigate Madisyn? If I wanted to check her out, would I have let you bring her here just a few days ago? Someoneâs investigating Madisyn, and you come straight to accuse me? Do you have any sense? The Klein family is already in your hands, and now youâre coming to question me? At least get your facts straight first! Iâm just quietly sitting at home, and here you are, accusing me!â
Denbyâs fiery retort clearly denied Andrewâs question.
Andrew took a seat, his hands resting on his knees, his dark eyes thoughtful.
Denby stared at him, a little confused by what Andrew had said.
âYou said someoneâs investigating Madisyn. Whatâs going on? Need my help to find out who?â
When Denby said this, he didnât expect his grandson to actually ask for his help.
Andrew was known for handling things on his own, especially when it came to Madisyn.
But as soon as Denby finished speaking, Andrew agreed immediately.
âOkay, help me out with this.â
He picked up a glass of water from the table and glanced at Denby with a calm, almost detached expression.
âYour military people are too nosy. Since you havenât retired, you should keep your people in check.â

âWhat do you mean by that?â Denby straightened up, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.
Andrew didnât elaborate. He simply stood up.
âYouâll understand once you dig into it. Let me know what you find out.â
With that, he left. Denby remained seated, his usual stern face furrowed in thought.
He picked up the phone and dialed Eltonâs number.
âElton, get over here ASAP. Itâs urgent.â
Outside the military compound, Andrew drove away but didnât head straight back to the hospital. He kept driving along the wide road. Even though heâd asked Denby to handle the investigation of Madisyn, how could he just sit back when it involved her?
The Johns family had only been in Ansport for a few years and hadnât ruffled any feathers in the military. Also, Madisyn had limited contact with the military.
The only link she had to the military was him.
But heâd been out of the military for years, so why would anyone be targeting her?
The more he thought about it, the more frustrated and uneasy he became. It seemed Madisyn had somehow gotten caught up in something dangerous because of him.
He glanced at the empty avenue outside the military compound, parked his car on the side of the road, and stepped out, lighting a cigarette. Leaning against the car, he could still see Denbyâs house in the distance.
