Chapter 1284
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1284:
âFine, fine,â Damari huffed, waving his hand.
Dismissively, Damari huffed, âI wonât say anything. Happy now? You stubborn bratâyou never listen. Youâre getting more and more annoying.â He pushed the chessboard aside.
âForget this game. Just go. I donât even want to see you right now.â
As Damari gestured for Andrew to leave, Madisyn walked back into the room. She looked at the chessboard, now a complete mess, and frowned.
âWhat happened here?â she asked, glancing between the two men.
Damari shook his head, but the moment he looked at Madisyn, his frustration eased. She was the granddaughter-in-law he had chosen, and just seeing her made him feel a little better. Yet, at the same time, it reminded him of why he was so upset with Andrew.
âIâm fine,â Damari said with a sigh.
âIâm just not happy with Andrew right now. How about you sit and play with me instead? Let him go back on his own.â
âWhat?â Madisyn asked, her eyes filled with curiosity and concern as she glanced at Andrew, wondering what he had done to upset Damari. Andrew met her questioning gaze with a calm, reassuring look. Without a word, he stepped beside her and gently took her hand. Then, looking at Damari, he said in a steady voice, âItâs getting late, Grandpa. You should rest. Madisyn and I will visit again soon.â
Without waiting for a response, he led Madisyn toward the car.
Though unsure of what had transpired, Madisyn trusted Andrewâs judgment. She glanced back at Damari and gave him a small nod, silently promising to return.
Watching them disappear through the courtyard entrance, Damari let out a long sigh. He turned to the butler beside him and shook his head.
âLook at her,â he muttered.
âShe truly is exceptional. Having her by Andrewâs side is a blessing. But that boyââ Damari frowned, his frustration evident.

âHeâs not a child anymore, yet he still canât see what truly matters.â
The butler, who had served Damari for years, understood the weight behind his words. He had witnessed the many trials the Klein family had endured and was well aware of the tragic circumstances surrounding Andrewâs parentsâ deaths.
Andrewâs mother had come from a powerful military family. She had met and fallen in love with Andrewâs father during a mission, and together they had built a life, raising Andrew and Evie. But in the end, fate had been cruelâboth of them had lost their lives on yet another mission.
Damari had always been reluctant for Andrew to follow in his motherâs footsteps. It wasnât just disapprovalâit was fear. Fear of history repeating itself.
Yet, despite his reservations, he had never truly stopped Andrew. If he had, Andrew wouldnât have joined that secretive organization so young or risen to such an influential position within it.
But was it the right choice? No one could say for sure. And it was that very uncertainty that left Damari restless.
The butlerâs voice was gentle as he tried to comfort Damari.
âMr. Klein, youâve witnessed Andrewâs capabilities over the years. Miss Johns has proven herself equally competent. We must place our trust in them.â
Damariâs shoulders slumped as he shook his head wearily.
