Chapter 1229
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1229:
She raised her hand and snapped a photo of Madisyn and Jared as their gazes locked. With a swift motion, she handed the phone to her assistant, instructing him to get it to Andrew. Then, without a second thought, she made her way toward Madisyn and Jared.
Madisyn didnât recognize Lilian, but Jared did. His eyes widened in shock when the woman they had just been discussing appeared in front of them.
Jared leaned in cautiously, lowering his voice.
âWhy is Lilian here? Boss, does she know youâre J?â
Madisyn frowned, a hint of confusion in her eyes.
âIâm not sure. Letâs see what she wants.â
Jared stepped forward, his posture defensive.
âWhether weâre a couple or not, whatâs it to you?â
Lilian, noticing how Jared instinctively moved in front of Madisyn, couldnât contain her irritation, her possessiveness flaring. Originally, she had planned to pretend to be cordial for a while, but with an obvious rival now before her, Lilianâs patience snapped.
Her smile shifted into something darker as she faced Jared.
âOkay, whether youâre a couple or not really isnât my business, because starting today, youâll be my business.â
Lilian strutted up to Jared, barely sparing Madisyn a glance. Her gaze, intense and bold, fixated on Jared.
âYouâre even more handsome than in pictures.â
Jared recoiled, disgusted by Lilianâs words and the way she sized him up, an uncomfortable shiver crawling down his spine. He quickly stepped back, his voice dripping with wariness.
âLilian, are you out of your mind?â
Lilian raised an eyebrow, unbothered by his retreat, her focus only on what she wanted.
âHmm? You know me?â
Jaredâs face twisted into a frown, a mixture of confusion and distaste in his expression.
But Lilian was utterly pleased with herself.
âSince you know me, that makes things easier. Jared, I have taken a liking to you. Starting today, Iâm going to pursue you, and you can only be with me.â
âPfft. Cough, cough, coughâ¦â Madisyn, who had been quietly observing as a background character, couldnât help herself. She had expected Lilian to be after her, but noâLilian had come all this way just to stake a claim on Jared, declaring she had âtaken a liking to him.â The irony of it all made Madisyn choke on her laughter.
The coughs and suppressed laughter snapped Jared out of his daze, and he turned to look at Lilian, who was now glaring at Madisyn.
âWhatâs so funny? Instead of laughing, you should learn some feminine virtues. You have a fiancé, yet youâre trying to seduce another man. Madisyn, I donât care what you do with other men in the future, but donât even think about Jared!â
Her words were crude, and Jaredâs gaze shifted from Lilian to one of distress and resentment.
Madisyn, dropping her hand from her mouth, stepped forward to stand beside Jared, meeting Lilianâs sharp eyes with a look of equal intensity.
