Chapter 1209
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1209:
âOkay, drive safely,â Madisyn reminded her with a kind smile.
As Evie left the Edge Entertainment building, she found herself alone in the driverâs seat.
She hadnât asked Waylon to drive her today since it was a last-minute trip. Recently, Waylon had truly kept his promise, looking after her as he said he would. He often took her out and surprised her with thoughtful gestures.
At times, Evie nearly forgot that sheâd agreed to Waylonâs plan because she had no other choice, considering letting him leave after just a few days. When she heard Madisynâs mention of his phone call today, she realized that Waylon had been with her for over half a month now.
Half a month was plenty of time for two people to go from strangers to close friends, even more so for two people who already knew each other well, like Evie and Waylon.
Since their parting was inevitable, Waylonâs efforts to make amends were more than enough. It was time to let things return to where they were meant to be.
As Evie was lost in her thoughts, Waylonâs message popped up on her phone.
âLetâs eat here today, okay? Do you need me to pick you up?â
There was a location pin after the message. Evie clicked on it, revealing the exact restaurant sheâd been wanting to try but never had the chance.
Her fingers instinctively curled. Waylon was too good to her, so that for a moment, she almost wanted to abandon her origins and wait for him to make the next move.
âNo. Iâll drive myself there.â
In front of the restaurant, which had a charming garden ambiance, Evie stepped out of her car. As she did, she saw Waylon already waving at her, his figure moving toward her with a smile.
He stood tall, his long legs making him look like he had stepped right off a runway. Even in simple clothes, he exuded effortless style. His face, with its irresistible charm, lit up with a smile, as if seeing Evie brought him genuine joy.
âYouâre here. I booked a table in advance. Letâs go in.â But Evie couldnât bring herself to move.
âEvie?â Waylon asked, his eyes full of concern.

âWhatâs wrong?â
She hesitated.
âWaylon, youâve been compensating me for over half a month⦠I think itâs enough.â
Waylonâs smile faltered, a shadow crossing his face.
âWhy are you suddenly saying this?â
âI think itâs best to say it now.â
A knot tightened in Waylonâs chest. Heâd only just begun to feel like his relationship with Evie was getting better, and now, she wanted to pull away.
He asked, âDid I do something wrong that made you unhappy? Tell me, and Iâll change!â
âYou didnât do anything wrong.â
Evie glanced toward the restaurant they hadnât entered yet.
âYouâve done very well. Thatâs why Iâm saying itâs enough. Waylon, you donât need to do anything else to make up for it.â
