Chapter 1208
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1208:
Alisâs lips curled into a small smile as she felt a flicker of relief for Evie. Having worked alongside her for so long, Alis had come to understand that despite Evieâs outwardly cheerful, sunny personalityâalways shining bright in the companyâthere was a subtle fragility and loneliness that seeped through her voice when she was singing. Alis couldnât be sure if that description was entirely accurate, but to her, Evie seemed like the kind of girl who spread joy while quietly hiding her sorrow. Now that she had a friend who truly cared for her, it felt like a small blessing.
Looking at Waylon, she said, âSince Evieâs agreed to have you with her, Iâll send you a copy of her upcoming schedule. You can get yourself acquainted with the assistantâs duties.â
âThanks, Alis,â Waylon replied.
Later, Evie returned to Edge Entertainment to take care of some work. When she heard that Madisyn was also in the office, she made her way to her office to say hello.
âI havenât seen you in ages! Iâve missed you so much, Madisyn.â In Madisynâs presence, Evie felt an overwhelming sense of acceptance and warmth, something that always brought out her softer, more playful side.
âOh, by the way, I bought gifts for you and my brother when I went out of town for filming, but I didnât bring them today. Iâll make sure to bring them next time.â
Madisyn smiled, her gaze softening as she looked at the adorable Evie.
âYour little gifts can wait, but Iâve got a new song I wrote just for you. Itâs right here, and you can take it with you.â Madisyn handed Evie a notebook.
âThank you!â
Evieâs excitement bubbled over as she eagerly opened the notebook.
Every song Madisyn wrote for her was nothing short of perfect, and Evie couldnât help but hum along to the melody in her head.
When Madisyn saw the joy in Evieâs face, her expression softened.
âItâs a relief to see you like this. Your brother and I are both at ease.â

âWhy is that?â Evie asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Madisyn replied, âWaylon called us the other day, saying heâd upset you and wanted to make things right. I thought, if someone as sweet as you could be angry with him, then he must have really messed up. Your brother didnât say much, but I could tell he was just as worried about you. We didnât bring it up at the time because we didnât want to upset you further.â Madisyn smiled gently, feeling reassured seeing Evie in a good mood. Her cheeks were flushed with color, and she had clearly gained some weight, a sign of her healthy state.
âSo Waylon called you,â Evie murmured, her hands clutching the notebook, the glimmer in her eyes slowly dimming.
Madisyn nodded.
âItâs been nearly a month now, hasnât it? Has he stopped being difficult with you?â Madisyn asked, her gaze lingering on Evie.
Evie nodded her head.
âHeâs actually been really good to me. Honestly, I think he was just joking around before.â
âJokes should always have some boundaries,â Madisyn replied with a gentle but pointed tone. Just then, her assistant knocked on the door. Evie stood up and smiled.
âYou should get back to work. Iâll leave now.â
