Chapter 1184
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1184:
âMadisyn, your new manor is so beautiful! The inside must be even more gorgeous. Come, Iâll go in with you,â Evie said excitedly.
It was her first time coming to the new Johns Manor, and Madisyn couldnât help but smile warmly at her excitement. She took Madisynâs arm and pulled her inside, leaving Andrew behind to carry the gifts from the trunk.
They went straight to the sunroom, where the warm golden light streaming through the glass walls cast a serene glow over the space. Evieâs eyes lit up at the sight of Elaine. She greeted Elaine happily and politely.
âMrs. Johns, sorry for the intrusion. I hope I am not disturbing you.â
âHey, what are you talking about? How can you be disturbing us?â Elaine said with a smile. She took Evieâs hand and added, âIâve seen you grow up, and I already treat you as one of my children. You are not an outsider. Besides, the more the merrier, right?â
They sat in the sunroom and chatted for a while. Soon, the rest of the Johns family members returned one after another.
Waylon was the last to arrive home. As soon as he entered the house, he paused at the sight of a pretty, vibrant young woman huddled beside his younger sister.
His teasing eyes narrowed, and the corners of his lips curved into a smile. He approached Evie with long strides and looked at her carefully. He exclaimed in feigned surprise, âHuh? Isnât this little Evie? Wow, youâve changed a lot! I almost didnât recognize you. You look so different now.â
After saying this, Waylon looked at Elaine and said, âMom, do you remember? When she was a little girl, she always followed Andrew and me around, like a little monkey.â
âYouâ¦â
Waylonâs description was so vivid that Madisyn and the others couldnât help but laugh. Evie could no longer maintain her docile facade. She glared at Waylon fiercely with a flushed face.

However, her reaction only urged Waylon to tease her even more.
âWhy? Did I say something wrong? Weâve all watched you grow up. You donât need to put on a show for us, okay?â
Waylonâs words provoked Evie even more. She was so angry that she stood up and grabbed a throw pillow.
âFine! Since you said I didnât have to put on a show, Iâll let it all out.â As soon as she said this, Evie began hitting Waylon with the throw pillow. Her hits werenât hard, and the pillow was soft, but it looked intense. Waylon dodged each hit, still teasing her.
While watching this scene, Elaine was instantly reminded of when her children were little. She didnât stop them. Instead, she moved aside to make room for their playful fight, laughing heartily.
Of course, Waylon was unharmed. He looked at Evieâs angry expression and let her chase him. When she couldnât keep up, he slowed down. Then, he would speed up again when she almost caught him.
After a while, Evie stopped mid-chase, realizing that Waylon had been teasing her all along. With a determined glare, she hurled the throw pillow at him, and it smacked him squarely in the chest. Then, she turned to Elaine and Madisyn, who were watching the scene unfold with thinly veiled amusement.
