Milly, who had been carefully controlling the heat, shook her head in response to Evie’s words.

“That’s not right.”

“Not right?” Evie was momentarily lost in the sight of Milly’s focused expression, not fully paying attention to her words.

Milly glanced at the task card in Evie’s hand.

“The salt produced by boiling it like this is crude and not edible. I need to refine it to complete the task.”

She commanded Evie with ease, “Go find activated charcoal, coarse sand… and make a filter funnel.”

“Okay.”

Evie didn’t think twice as her reply slipped out, but the moment she agreed, a strange feeling washed over her. Something didn’t seem quite right.

Milly’s voice was soft and composed, but there was something about her manner that made it impossible not to follow her directions. It was almost uncanny.

Evie mumbled to herself but didn’t think much of it as she left the kitchen to search for the materials Milly requested.

Meanwhile, viewers watching the live stream began to buzz about Milly and Evie’s interaction.

“At first, I didn’t like Evie much when she grabbed Milly’s luggage from Watkins’s hand. But now, it’s like they’ve got some unexpected chemistry.”

Howard, on a work break, was also watching the live stream. When he saw Evie separating Milly and Watkins at the villa entrance and then helping Milly, he couldn’t help but smile. It seemed his decision to convince Evie to join the show was proving to be the right one.

He briefly left the stream and scrolled through Evie’s Instagram page, where she had posted about a limited-edition luxury item. He just so happened to have a collection from the same series.

Howard saved the image, planning to find the item at home and surprise Evie with it after her filming ended.

But when he returned to the live stream, he saw that while the other participants were moving forward, Watkins was still struggling outside the villa.

As a renowned national science expert, Howard couldn’t fathom why Watkins couldn’t seem to put together a sundial, especially with clear step-by-step instructions in front of him.
