Susan answered promptly, her cheerful face appearing on the screen. “Hi, Susan.”

Smiling, Madisyn asked, “How have you been these past few days? Are you feeling bored being alone?”

Susan shook her head with a gentle smile. “Not at all. I’ve been reading after work, and Dane comes home early to keep me company. Oh, and Docie stopped by today.”

Adjusting the camera, Susan revealed Docie’s face.

After that, Susan turned the camera back to herself. “Tomorrow’s Friday, and Docie wanted advice for the banquet. I gave her a few pointers.”

Madisyn nodded and continued chatting for a while before ending the call as her secretary entered her office with new contracts for her to sign.

“Miss Riggs, your fresh juice is ready.”

Seeing Susan set her phone down, Docie pointed at a glass of green liquid on the table.

Susan nodded and drank it in one go, leaving Docie impressed. “Miss Riggs, vegetable juice isn’t as tasty as fruit juice. How do you manage to drink such a large glass?”

Smiling, Susan replied, “I’ve grown to like milder flavors lately, so it suits me. You’ll understand when you’re my age.”

Docie nodded slightly in understanding, observing Susan’s delicate, unchanged appearance despite her pregnancy. She couldn’t help but wonder how far along she was.

Curiosity got the better of her, and Docie asked directly. While Susan never discussed her pregnancy at work, she felt comfortable enough at home to talk about it with Docie. “I’m almost five months along now.”
