Chapter 1064
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1064:
Ailyn froze. People in the police car?
Before she could recover, the officer, responding to Andrewâs signal, stepped forward. He dragged a man in black from the back of a police car.
âUncle?â
âFather?â
Albertine and Ailyn exclaimed in shock at the same time when they saw the manâs face. Albertine rushed toward her father, confusion written all over her.
âFather, why are you with the police? Whatâs going on?â she asked, her voice trembling with disbelief.
The questions hung in the air, unanswered. Ailyn stared at her uncle. But as their eyes met, something shifted. The panic in Ailynâs gaze disappeared. She took a step closer to her uncle, worry on her face.
âUncle, what is going on? Why would Mr. Klein say youâ¦â
Ailynâs uncle remained stoic, his expression unreadable. The officer, seeing his silence and knowing the man wasnât a major member of the Vettel family, raised his baton and struck him across the back.
âTalk!â the officer barked.
Donât miss out gαâηÏνðlsâ¤cøm
Ailynâs uncle staggered from the blow, a flash of pain crossing his face. He lifted his head slowly, meeting Andrewâs gaze, and there was a moment of quiet defiance in his eyes.
âThe Vettel family never gives up ground in negotiations,â he began, his voice low but steady. âI invested heavily after the deal with Mr. Klein, but the profits never came. I thought⦠if he were removed from the picture, we could renegotiate the terms.â
His words hung in the air, cold and calculated. The officer seemed convinced by the explanation, his expression softening slightly. Ailyn, on the other hand, let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Although Madisyn had escaped, Ailyn clung to one solace: her fatherâs surgery had been a success, which was what mattered the most. As for her uncle, he would shoulder the blame for now. Once her father regained consciousness, he would surely set things right and clear his brotherâs name. Her family would just lose the chance to control Dr. Mia foreverânothing else was lost. Against Madisynâs shrewdness, they had little choice but to concede, at least for the moment.
Meanwhile, Madisynâs gaze darted to Andrew, filled with worry. âThey blocked your way?â
In the face of othersâ gazes, Andrew usually remained composed. Yet as Madisyn leaned in to inspect him, concern etched into her features, he let out an exaggerated sigh, his demeanor softening into an almost childlike vulnerability.
âMadisyn, I tried to call you after signing the contract, but you didnât answer. On my way to pick you up, they rear-ended me! It was chaosâyou wouldnât believe how dangerous it got.â
