Chapter 1061
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1061:
Pain shot through Albertineâs wrists as tears threatened to spill. âI didnât steal it,â she said, her voice quavering. âThe owner allowed me to take it.â
Jaredâs eyes narrowed to slits. âThatâs impossible. The owner never lets anyone touch this kit.â
Albertineâs gaze remained fixed on the medical kit, her entire body tense with urgency.
Studying her face, Jared saw raw fear rather than greed or calculation. Something shifted in his expression. âI know the owner of this kit,â he said suddenly. âHave you seen her?â
âYou know her?â Albertineâs struggles ceased as she stared at him in wonder. Yet wariness still clouded her featuresâtrust wouldnât come easily.
âThen tell me, who is she? Whatâs your relationship with her?â
As Jared observed her genuine reaction, his tone softened. âSheâs a world-renowned doctorâboth my boss and my friend.â
âReally?â Doubt creased Albertineâs brow.
Jared couldnât help but marvel at her transparent nature. Thank goodness heâd been the one to intercept her today, or Madisynâs kit might have been lost for good. He assured her, âOf course itâs true. Why else would I be here?â
âIâm looking for her.â

A spark of hope ignited in Albertineâs eyes.
âI know where she is,â she breathed out.
Jared followed Albertineâs lead to the skylight above the detention room.
Meanwhile, Madisyn had kept a vigilant watch on the skylight. Sheâd caught onto Ailynâs attempt to drug her post-surgery and had cleverly feigned unconsciousness by holding her breath. Though Madisyn could easily overpower the two guards outside the room, her primary concern was protecting her medical kit.
When she first heard noise at the skylight, she had thought it was Jared, but it had been Albertine instead. Now, Albertine had returned with both the medical kit and Jared in tow.
A gentle smile played across Madisynâs lips. It touched her that Albertine, after receiving her help, would return the favor with such unwavering dedication. Such genuine sincerity was rareâMadisyn wondered if she herself would have retained such kindness had she been raised in this manorâs oppressive atmosphere.
Madisyn caught Jared and Albertineâs attention with a signal as she rose from the floor. The guards outside, still believing Madisyn unconscious, rushed to investigate a sudden noise from within. Their urgency proved their undoing as Madisyn swiftly knocked them down from behind the door.
âAlright, letâs head over to her,â Jared said to Albertine at the skylight, and they quickly went to the exit to wait for Madisyn.
Meanwhile, the sharp beep of Ailynâs phone shattered the silence. Her expression morphed from confidence to concern as she checked the screen.
