Chapter 1054
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1054:
Madisyn remembered Ailyn mentioning that her uncle had become infertile due to an injury when he was younger and that he only had one daughter, Albertine. If they werenât going to treat Albertine well, why bother bringing her home at all?
âHow have you been living with your family?â Madisyn asked, a trace of sympathy in her voice.
Albertine lowered her gaze, focusing on her dessert. âItâs much better than the orphanage. I have enough food, a place to sleep, and I donât have to worry about earning money.â
âDonât you go to school?â Madisyn asked, finding Albertineâs situation stranger than the children she had sponsored before. At least those kids yearned for knowledge, but Albertine didnât.
Hearing Madisynâs question, Albertine looked up, surprised. âI was brought in from outside. The familyâs resources are only for Ailyn, who grew up there. My father, me, and many others are just here to serve Ailyn.â
Hearing this, Madisyn fell silent. Albertineâs perspective had likely been shaped by those around her, and it would be difficult to change her thinking quickly. Madisyn could only look at her and order another dessert for her.
âThank you, Miss Johns,â Albertine said, smiling as she took the small dessert for herself. After finishing it, she sipped her drink and said to Madisyn, âMiss Johns, youâve been so kind, but I canât stay any longer. I need to go back and tell my father about Alan.â
Actually, Albertine knew her father would find out tomorrow, even if she didnât say anything. But since Madisyn had no reason to keep her, she let her leave.

After Albertine left, Madisyn barely touched her food. She and Andrew returned to the hotel. Passing by the cabinet, Madisyn noticed the lollipop she had casually placed there when emptying her pocket.
Under the moonlight, the Vettel familyâs manor stood grand and imposing, like something out of a fairy tale. Albertine walked down the winding garden path, heading back to the castle where she and her father lived. She pushed open the castle gate and climbed the spiral staircase, planning to go to the study to find her father.
The study door was open. Her father, seemingly unconcerned about intruders, was in the middle of a conversation with Ailyn.
Albertine was about to enter and tell them everything that had happened at the restaurant that night when Ailynâs voice stopped her.
âIf Andrew and Madisyn both suddenly die, no one will connect Dr. Mia to them. Once we control Dr. Miaâs thoughts, sheâll always be a tool for our Vettel family, and her medical skills will belong to us. We can even cancel the unprofitable deal with the Klein Group.â
Albertine stopped abruptly, stunned by what she heard. Was Ailyn trying to harm Madisyn and Andrew? And would her father agree?
While Albertine was lost in thought, her father said, âIâll make sure this gets taken care of. Your decision will make our family even stronger.â
