Chapter 1047
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1047:
âLooks like youâre packing for a trip?â Susan said, spotting the luggage as she entered, puzzled since Dane hadnât mentioned any travel plans for Madisyn.
Handing Susan a glass of milk, Madisyn settled next to her. âItâs just a short trip. Donât worry. As your soon-to-be sister-in-law, Iâll be back before your wedding with Dane.â Madisyn gave Susan a mischievous wink. âOur pact hasnât slipped my mind.â
Susan was set to marry Dane in two weeks, and long ago, they had promised to be present at each otherâs weddings. Madisyn had even promised to be Susanâs bridesmaid.
Considering Susanâs pregnancy, Madisyn added, âDane has everything under control for the wedding. Just focus on being radiant. Let the others manage the routine tasks at work. Take it easy.â
Madisyn wasnât the type to dish out reminders often, but this was Susanâher best friend and a mom-to-be. If anyone needed a little extra care, it was her.
As Madisyn spoke, Susan sat there with the glass of milk in hand, smiling at her. Madisyn frowned, her eyebrows knitting together.
âSusan, whatâs so funny? Were you even paying attention to what I just said?â
Madisyn couldnât help but wonder if her friendâs pregnancy had made her a bit scatterbrained. Susan gave a small cough. âI was listening.â

Her cheeks were flushed with a delicate rosiness, and her whole demeanor radiated contentment. âIâm just⦠happy.â
Susanâs hand drifted instinctively to her belly as she continued, âEver since I found out this little one is your brotherâs, Iâve been so excited for its arrival. I mean, think about itâbeing with the man I love, having a career Iâm proud of, fixing things with my dad⦠and now my best friend is also my sister-in-law. Honestly, thereâs no moment more perfect than this.â
Susan, ever so composed and gentle, wore a serene smile that only seemed to deepen her quiet beauty. Madisyn found herself captivated by her best friendâs glow.
âThis is just the beginning. Now that youâre my best friend and my sister-in-law, thereâs a whole lot of joy coming your way.â
âI canât wait.â
Susan downed the last of her milk, then glanced over at Madisynâs suitcase. âNeed a hand? I can help you pack.â
âSure,â Madisyn said warmly.
The two of them kept up a lively conversation. When Andrew returned home from work, he was greeted by the sight of Madisyn cheerfully waving goodbye to Susan. Taking her hand in his, he asked with a tender smile,
âSweetheart, did you have a good time with Susan?â
âYesâ¦â
Madisyn stopped mid-sentence, noticing a peculiar edge in Andrewâs tone.
