Chapter 136
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 136 Clark let out a cold laughter. âWell, you and Kris can search all you want, but you wonât find anything. Iâm not an idiot.â
Thalassaâs eyes narrowed, her voice cutting through the room like ice. âSo itâs true. That story you told me about the women you âfell in love withâ supposedly killing themselvesâit was all a lie, wasnât it? They never committed suicide. You killed them so you can get their fortune.â
Clark scoffed, rolling his eyes. âI didnât kill them. They were already sick in the head. All I had to do was push them a little, and they were ready to swallow those pills because they were so âdepressed.â Poor things.â
Though her face remained composed, Thalassa felt a wave of nausea twist in her stomach. How had she allowed someone like him to get so close to her? His voice was devoid of emotion, as if driving someone to suicide was something normal to him.
âIs that what you planned to do to me?â she asked calmly. Marry me or get me to sign over my wealth, then make me kill myself?â
Clark shook his head with a faint smile. âNo, of course not. Youâre not like them. I really do see myself spending the rest of my life with you because youâre different. Youâre special.â
âDo?ââ Thalassa almost laughed at how he spoke as if the future was still an option for them. âIt seems like those women werenât the only ones sick in the head if you think Iâll stay with you after everything I knowâafter what you tried to do to my best friend.â
Clarkâs expression darkened, his gaze hardening. âYou can be mine willingly or not, but I will have you at all costs, Thalassa.â
He began to step forward when Thalassa warned. âI said, not another step. Donât force me to shoot you, Clark.â
Tension thrummed in the air as they stared at each other for several seconds. Finally, a confident smile tugged at Clarkâs lips.
âCareful, Lassa. Thatâs not a toy in your hand. You probably donât even know how to use it.â
âOh believe me, I do. Should I show you?â Her finger tightened on the trigger, wiping the smug grin from his face. âYouâre going to rot in jail, Clark Morgan.â
âJail?â He chuckled darkly. âYes, I did everything youâre accusing me of, but what are they going to lock me up for? Your words?
Sweetheart, you donât have any evidence, and you never will because Iâm not stupid. Everything I do, I plan with care. Sure, I might have some trouble with the court, but Iâll find my way out.â
Thalassaâs smile turned cold, her eyes glinting with satisfaction, âYouâre right. They wonât lock you up based on what I say. But theyâll definitely lock you up for your own words.â
Clark tensed. âWhat do you mean?â
Her smile widened. âI mean every part of this conversation has been recorded by this microâcamera. Right here.â She pointed at a small button on her jacket. It looked so much like the rest of the buttons that you wouldnât know it was a camera unless you were told.
Clarkâs eyes followed her finger, his disbelief quickly turning to fury. Just then, the wail of police sirens grew louder in the distance.
âYou bitch!â he spat, rage distorting his face. âYouâve made the cops get here. Youâre coming with meânow!â
He lunged at her, but before he could get close, Thalassa aimed the gun at his thigh and squeezed the trigger. The shot echoed through the room as Clark let out a scream of agony.

âI warned you.â Thalassaâs voice was steady, her gaze cold. âThe police are almost here. Get ready for your life in prison, Clark.â
Clark gritted his teeth, fury blazing in his eyes. âNever!â He struggled to his feet, blood soaking his trousers and dripping onto the pristine white tiles. âThis isnât over. Youâll fucking regret this.â
Limping toward the door, he moved as quickly as he could, desperate to reach his car before the police arrived. But his luck had run out.
As soon as he stepped outside, blinding headlights fell on him. A police officerâs voice rang out and commanded âStop right there and put your hands in the air! Youâre under arrest.
