RYN
I had to go
to my room to change into my clothes first, but as soon as I was done, I was off to the hospital.

When I arrived, I found twice the security standing outside Adamâs ward, and when I went in, I found Adam sitting up in bed with two more guards standing on either side of him.

Immediately, anger flashed through me at the unnecessary hoolaâbaloo, but I kept myself in check. My Uncle was just trying to be cautious and doesnât know Adam like I did,
My friend and I exchanged smiles, but as I crossed the room to go to his bed, Dominic held me back by gripping my elbow.
I slowly turned, looking from his hand to his face. âLet me go!â I mindlinked, not wanting to disrespect him in front of
everyone.
âNo.â His silver eyes hardened. âI donât trust him.â
âBut I do! Heâs had my back in more ways than one. Heâs not a bad guy!â
Dominic arched a brow. âThe Healers ran tests on him, Kathryn. He has scars all over his body, especially his back. Seems he gets whipped occasionally. His back has been destroyed.â
I couldnât help but look at Adamâs way. Poor thing was probably suffering because he associated himself with me. âI think his father is abusive to him. I promise, Adam is not a bad person.â
Dominicâs silver eyes searched mine for a moment before releasing my arm and taking a step back.
âThank you.â I mouthed to him before rushing to my friendâs side. âHey.â I said, taking his shackled hand in mine.
âHi, Ryn.â He smiled wanly, âHowâs the girl?â
âBack with her parents. How are you?â
âNow that I know the girl is okay and I get to see you? Iâm ecstatic.â He smiled again, more tiredly this time. I could feel the full weight of eyes watching us, so I cleared my throat and peered into Adamâs light blue ones.
âYou said you wanted to see me.â
âYeah.â His smile faded. âAlpha Dominic has been asking for information about the rest of the families. I needed you here because I wasnât sure if heâd kill me as soon as he gets what he wants.â
I turned my gaze on Dominic, and realized I didnât really know him that well to decide, even though he was my uncle and mentor. âWould you kill him?â I mindlinked again.
My uncleâs gaze cut to me, stoic but sharp. âWell, his family and I have a very long history of bad blood.â He said out loud. âBesides, he technically broke into my garden one time. I still havenât forgiven him for that.â
âI was under orders!â Adam replied.
âDonât care.â Dominic shrugged, âSoldiers die all the time while carrying out orders. Itâs nothing new.â
âPlease.â I interjected. âCan we let bygones be bygones? Things have changed. Loyalties have shifted. Spare his lifeâ¦. Please,
Dominic.â
My uncle returned his gaze back to my friend and folded his large biceps across his chest. âTell me what I want to hear and Iâll consider.â

A shiver went down my spine. I turned back to Adam, who looked disturbed. He swallowed. âWhat do you want to know?
âWhere are they?â Dominic asked.
âTo be honest, I donât know.â
Suddenly, I heard a sound, and I turned to see Dominicâs claws had come out.
Instantly, I rose to my feet. âDominic-â
âIâm serious! I donât know where they went!â Adamâs voice raised an octave. âThey were always on the move and when they made the bounty, they were hiding out in the West. I doubt weâll find them there again!â
âGive me the address.â Dominic demanded, and after he was given a pen and paper, Adam scribbled down the address and handed it over.
I turned to Adam. âIs it all the families that placed the bounty?â I asked, wondering how Mr. Cresswell could be complicit in
this.
Adam shook his head. âMy father was the one who brought the idea, and he funded it. The Caines also helped, but Mr. Cresswell really wasnât into it. His wife contributed though.â
Of course she did. Evil ass bitch!
âWhy the bounty? They could have easily disappeared without a trace.â Dominic asked and Adam scoffed.
âRyn is potentially now the most powerful woman in all kingdoms â Heiress to the throne of the East and Luna to the King of the West. They are afraid of what she might do.â
I glanced at Dominic. Adam doesnât even know I am also the princess of the North.
âAny idea where their other hideouts are?â Dominic asked, and Adam shook his head.
âBecause of myâ¦âpreferenceâ for Ryn, my parents didnât trust me, so they kept me out of the loop of their future plans. I had no idea about the bounty until it was executed.â
Dominic retracted his claws and rested his hands on his waist. âWeâll run some lie detector tests and if you pass, you will be released.â Then, with a curt nod, he left the room.
I thought that was fair.
Adam and I decided to catch up on things, but I decided not to tell him that I was related to Dominic. âDid you see Sadie?â
Adam nodded. âSheâs doing fine, but sheâs upset about the whole running and hiding..â
âAnd her parents didnât tell her why?â
âThey told her you are after them because they took sides with the Caines and my family. Konan is also adding more lies to twist things. Sheâs really confused, but she insists on speaking to you first. She really cares about you.â
âBut her parents wonât let her talk to me, will they?â
Adam shook his head, and I sighed, leaning back in my chair. I really hope this war doesnât ruin what I have with Sadie.
After leaving the hospital, I went home and found Theon still sleeping, so I undressed down to my panties, changed into a spare shirt and lifted the covers. Now, Theon had been sleeping on his side, so I snuggled in close and he lifted his arm to accommodate me.
Just then, I heard Dominicâs voice in my head. âHow about we have dinner tomorrow night? Iâll pick you up at seven.â

I smiled to myself as I replied. âIâd love that, but can I please have a phone?â
âWhat brand?â
âAny. As long as it works.â
âIâll have it delivered tomorrow at noon.â
âThank you.â I replied before falling asleep to Theonâs rhythmic heartbeats.

At some point, Theon got up to go to the bathroom, so I rolled over to the other side and then I bumped into something. Rising on my elbow, I frowned, wondering what the hell I bumped into. Then the sweet scent of vanilla and coconut candy wafted through my nostrils, and I blinked my eyes wide open.
Lying just inches away was Miro, with his hair tousled and his face serene in sleep. He was shirtless, his muscles defined in the now dim room. I looked out and discovered the sun had set.
âMiro?â
âMhm?â He hummed, and without opening his eyes, he reached out and laid hold of my thigh, his hand subtly slipping under my shirt.
âWhen did you get back?â
âI donât know.â He sighed. âMaybe an hour ago. Come here.â
Without hesitation, his hand slid to my butt and, with ease, he drew me closer to him. Thatâs when he opened his eyes in slits. âIâve missed you so much.â He grumbled, his voice gruff and sensual, hinting at what he actually missed.
âIs it just me you missed or you miss whatâs between my legs?â
The corners of his lips tilted up just as his forehead creased. âThatâs not fair.â His possessive hand travelled from the way up to grab a breast. âI missed whatâs on your chest, too.â
my ass all
An involuntary giggle escaped me just as his body shuddered with laughter. Then our amusement faded as our lips drew closer.
Kissing Miro felt like going on a road trip.
There was something spontaneous and exciting about it, like I was on a journey to uncover the wonders of the world. It was neither slow nor fast, but it was deep and demanding, taking all my focus and attention.
In one move, Miro was nestled between my legs and I closed my eyes with a satisfied smile, loving the way his hardâon rubbed against my clit. It wasnât until I heard the bathroom door open that I remembered Theon was around.
Instantly, my eyes snapped open and I wondered.
Is this about to be awkward?
AUTHORâS NOTE: Gods! February was one of the worst months of my life. Glad itâs all over. Thank you all for sticking by me. I wrote a lot of chaps and the book should end in two to three days from now.
