Chapter 803
Bogus Billionaire
At the wedding venue, Eddy looked at every face in the audience from his place on the stage.
These guests were all members of the big four families. He might not recognize them all, but one thing was for certain.
Kirk wasnât here.
âMake sure to check everywhere. Are you sure that there isnât a trace of Uncle Kirk?â Eddy asked Simon.
âYes, sir.â
âIt canât be. Caroline and I are getting married today. Thereâs no way he would stay calm and not show up here.â
A sharp glint appeared in Eddyâs gaze. âGet more people to watch every entrance and exit. Thereâs no way he wonât show up today.â
Simon nodded. âYes, sir.â
As soon as Simon left, Damien brought Adrian to the stage and greeted Eddy.
âEddy-â
Eddy turned around, and he was stunned to see Adrian. If he remembered correctly, Adrian was supposed to be abroad.
Adrian raised the cup in his hand. âLong time, no see, Mr. Eddy.â
âLikewise. What are you doing back here?â Eddy asked casually.
Adrian looked at Eddy with a meaningful smile. âI heard Caroline was getting married, so I came back for the wedding.â
Eddy stopped scanning his surroundings, and his gaze landed on Adrian. He could see the unabashed admiration in Adrianâs gaze.
Eddyâs expression shifted, and he narrowed his eyes. He had never noticed that Adrian was interested in Caroline â¦
However, he soon felt relieved. Adrian was harmless. He was just an illegitimate child of the Sorkins.
He couldnât cause any problems.
âReally? âYouâre too kind.â Eddy held out his hand.
Seeing this, Adrian held his hand. As they clasped their hands together, both of them secretly tried to assert their dominance.
Damien didnât notice anything between them. He said to Eddy with a smile, âMr. Eddy, please take care of Adrian in the future.â
âDonât worry, I will,â Eddy said profoundly.
Adrian simply smiled at his words and let go of his hand after a moment. After greeting each other, he returned to his seat.
Eddy didnât see him as a threat, so he stopped paying attention to him.
At this moment, a voice sounded at the door. âThe wedding shall now begin.â
The noisy audience immediately quieted down, and everyone returned to their seats.
Only Adrian nodded at Damien and said, âIâm going out for a while.â
Damien frowned at his words. âThe wedding is about to start. Why are you still wandering around?â
âI have to go to the bathroom,â Adrian answered smoothly.
Damie couldnât stop him, so he shook his hand impatiently and said, âMake it quick.â 1 Adrian bent his waist and walked to the other door. After leaving the hall, he turned to the restroom nearby. Then, he changed into the staff uniform he had prepared in advance.
After Adrian was done, he showed up in the corridor again, posing as a staff member. He acted calm and composed. None of the staff noticed he had sneaked into their ranks.
Adrian followed his memory and walked to the brideâs dressing room.
At this moment, Caroline was standing restlessly at the dressing room door. Every time someone walked by, she craned her neck in anticipation.
But every time, she would be disappointed. That was because none of them stopped walking and asked her if she wanted to leave with them.
