Chapter 780

Eddy tiptoed as he pushed open the door. Then, he walked over to the bed and carefully took Caroline’s hand.

“Caroline, I’ll definitely protect you in the future.”

After saying that, he leaned over and was about to kiss her forehead. However, Caroline, who was deep asleep, suddenly opened her eyes.

Eddy was taken aback and almost fell.

Caroline looked at him puzzledly.

“Eddy, what happened to you?” Her voice was weak.

Eddy shook his head and looked at her pale complexion.

“I’m fine. How about you? How are you?”

Caroline’s head had started buzzing again. She quickly pressed her forehead.

“I’m okay. It’s just that my head hurts a lot. What happened just now? You had been saying… that I had taken over something?”

“No. You remembered it wrongly.”

Eddy walked over and sat down beside her. “Caroline, I have something that I want to ask you,” he said.

“What’s the matter?” Caroline continued rubbing her head.

“Shall we get married?” After saying that, Eddy looked at her anxiously.

Caroline stopped rubbing her head. Then, she slowly lifted her head to look at him. It took a while for her to answer. “Eddy, do you know what you’re saying?”

“I know.” Eddy grabbed her hand excitedly.

“Let’s get married, Caroline!”

Caroline tugged her hand back./’Why don’t you calm down?”

“Caroline, didn’t you always want us to get married? Why do you look unhappy now that I’ve agreed?”

His words struck deep into Caroline’s heart.

She wasn’t sure why, either. Indeed, she had always wanted to marry him. Plus, she had been waiting for this day for eight years.

But now that he had asked, she wasn’t happy at all.

“Eddy, marriage isn’t a child’s game. You should calm down.”

After saying that, Caroline tugged on her blanket. “It’s getting late. You should go back to your room.

My head is still ringing, so I need some rest too.”

Instead of leaving, Eddy stared at Caroline. “Caroline, did you fall in love with someone else?” he asked.

Caroline’s heart skipped a beat.

A blurry side profile appeared in her mind at this moment.

However, she muttered incoherently, “What are you talking about? How could I possibly change my mind?

If you say such a ridiculous thing again, I’ll get angry!”

“Since you don’t like someone else, why aren’t you willing to get married to me?” Eddy persistently asked.

Caroline couldn’t answer. Instead, she turned to look at the ground. “Eddy, don’t force me. I only want to rest right now. I’m begging you not to.”

Seeing her pale complexion, Eddy managed to grab ahold of himself.

He stood up slowly. “Okay. I won’t force you. You should get some rest. I’ll head out now.”

After the door closed, Caroline slowly lifted her head to look at the door aggrievedly. It was a big mess.

She wondered what had happened.

She had just lost her memories. However, her feelings toward Eddy had completely changed.

She wasn’t as obsessed with him as she had been before. Instead of feeling joy, she felt scared when he had asked her to marry him.

Caroline looked up to see the bright sky outside the window.

Suddenly, she really wanted to know what memories she had lost.

More importantly, she wondered/who the person was who kept appearing in her memories.
