Chapter 771

The sound of the two cars colliding resonated in the air for a long time.

The next second, Kirk got out of the black car and rushed toward Caroline. Then, he bent down and scooped her into his arms before heading back to the car.

Gwen finally snapped to her senses and got into the car with Kirk.

The trio soon arrived at the hospital.

After hearing what happened, the doctors rushed over and sent Caroline into the operating room.

Seeing the operating room’s door close, Gwen could no longer bear it. As if drained of all her energy, she slumped to the ground.

Meanwhile, Kirk stood there expressionlessly.

“I’m sorry. I wasn’t able to protect Caroline.” Gwen’s tears fell like beads of a broken string when she saw the red indication outside the operating room.

When Gwen thought about Layla being behind this, she wanted to beat the latter up so badly.

Layla was absolutely crazy. Caroline had already lost her memories, yet she still wasn’t satisfied.

Kirk stayed silent. He stared at the unusual blob of red on the door with a darkened expression.

However, all he could think about was the scene of Caroline getting thrown into the air.

Kirk’s expression darkened.

His veins popped as he clenched his fists.

When Charles and Sean rushed over, they saw Kirk on the brink of insanity.

Sean supported Gwen up from the ground. Then, he went to Kirk’s side to stop him. “Kirk.”

Kirk glanced at Sean sharply.

At that moment, the operation’s/door opened, and a doctor walked out.

“The patient is fine. She’ll wake up in a while.”

The doctor walked away after saying that.

When they heard that, the four people in the room relaxed.

“That’s great! What a relief that she’s fine.” Gwen was so emotional that she started crying.

Soon, a nurse wheeled Caroline out of the room.

Kirk immediately rushed forward. Just as he was about to touch Caroline, he suddenly thought of something and backed away.

While doing so, he almost collided with Sean.

“Kirk, what happened?”

“I … can’t see her.” Kirk furrowed his eyebrows.

Everyone in the room immediately went silent.

“Gwen.”

“Yes?” Gwen choked out a response.

“Help me take good care of her. If something happens again…

“Don’t worry. I’ll definitely take good care of Carrie.”

After getting Gwen’s promise, Kirk strengthened his resolve and left without looking back.

Seeing his retreating figure, Sean turned around to look at Gwen. After telling Gwen to take good care of Caroline, Sean hurried up to Kirk.

Gwen stared at the two figures before turning around helplessly to see Caroline on the bed.

Caroline was quite lucky. Although she had been hit by a car, only her head was injured. Apart from a few scratches on her body, she was completely fine.

The nurse said Caroline could be discharged in a few days if she rested well.

Gwen sent a photo of Caroline lying in the hospital bed to Sean.

Gwen believed that Sean would know what she meant.

After taking the pictures, Gwen got up to get some water for Caroline.

However, she saw Eddy holding a bouquet of roses by the door.

Gwen flared up when she saw Eddy.

Eddy was partly responsible for what happened to Caroline, after all.

“What are you doing here?” Gwen used her body to block the entrance indifferently.
