“Of course.” Kirk held Caroline’s hand on the table. “But darling, you have to promise me something.”

“You can’t hide anything about your treatment from me.”

Caroline looked at Kirk in confusion. “I–I wouldn’t hide anything from you. Don’t worry. No matter what kind of treatment I undergo, I’ll talk things through with you first.”

Kirk stared intently at Caroline. After a long time, he let go of her hand and held out his pinky.

Caroline couldn’t help but laugh at his actions. “What are you doing? Are you doing a pinky swear?

“Signing an agreement is too troublesome, so let’s just do a pinky swear.”

Caroline thought that Kirk was childish sometimes, but it was an adorable kind of childish. “All right.”

She readily held out his pinky and hooked it with Kirk’s. “I pinky promise to tell you everything. I won’t hide anything from you.”

After saying that, she pressed her thumb on Kirk’s thumb. “Here. Happy now?”

Kirk’s frown relaxed slightly. “Yeah.”

After finishing their dinner, the two went home.
