Chapter 741
Bogus Billionaire
It wasnât until Caroline felt Kirkâs body temperature slowly rising that she raised her head. âWhat happened to you? Did you just return from Dr. Caldwellâs place?â
The only thing that could make Kirk react like this was something concerning her.
Kirk gently shook his head. âNo.â
Caroline frowned, but she didnât expose his lie. âHave you eaten?â
âNope.â
âThen, letâs go out for dinner.â Caroline took Kirkâs hand.
âKirk, it seems we havenât had a candlelight dinner before.â
Kirk thought for a moment and nodded. âYouâre right.â
âLetâs go have some Faromish food. Weâll go to the same restaurant where you proposed to me.â
âYou still remember that?â
âOf course!â At the mention of that incident, Caroline felt quite regretful.
âDonât tell me youâve forgotten about that.â
âOf course not. How could I forget?â Kirk caressed Carolineâs head lovingly.
âGo change your clothes: Iâll call the restaurant owner and ask him to reserve a table for us.â
âAll right,â Caroline responded before`she headed upstairs.
As Kirk watched her leave, he felt his heartache again. The three treatment options pushed him and Caroline into a desperate situation.
Kirk closed his eyes for a moment. He waited until his emotions had subsided before calling the restaurant owner.
By the time he was done, Caroline had changed into her dress and come downstairs. She was wearing a Faromishâstyle dress.
The hem of her dress was wide and fluffy, only revealing her beautiful ankles. Furthermore, the waistband style showed off her slim waist.
Kirk took off his suit jacket and put it on Caroline. âLetâs go.
Caroline looked at Kirk in confusion. âWhy are you putting this jacket on me? It looks so ugly combined with my dress.â
âI think you look pretty good like this. That way, the men on the streets wonât even dare to gawk at you.â
Caroline laughed at his words. âKirk, are you that insecure about yourself? I mean, Iâm not even worried about you attracting other womenâs attention.â
âYou donât?â Kirk raised Carolineâs chin.
Caroline smiled confidently. âOf course not. Why donât you try it out?â
âNo.â Kirk held Carolineâs hand.
âIâm not interested in those women at all.â
âThen, who are you interested in?â Caroline chuckled.
Kirk tapped Carolineâs nose. âYou clearly know the answer to the question. All right. We should go.
âOkay.â Caroline held Kirkâs hand and headed to the Faromish restaurant.
When they arrived, Caroline realized that they were the only ones there.
âWhy isnât there anyone else here?â Caroline asked curiously.
Kirk led her through the dimly lit restaurant and sat at the dining table. âItâs perfect, isnât it? Just imagine that I booked this entire restaurant for you.â
âSure.â Caroline smiled sweetly.
âBut soon, I wonât have to imagine anymore.â As she spoke, she folded her hands and placed her chin on them.
âYouâll be the person in charge of the newly established Evans Group soon. When the time comes, booking an entire restaurant would be an easy chore for you.â
Kirk chuckled. âDarling, youâve already planned to leave Evans Group to me after you take over Collins Group, have you?â
âIâm no longer interested in managing a company. I want to spend my time writing manuscripts. 1 want to become a famous playwright like Aunt Mary,â
Kirk smiled slightly at her words. âWhen did you start having this wish?â
Caroline thought for a moment before replying, âIn the beginning, I continued writing simply because of Aunt Maryâs approval.
âLater on, I gradually experienced the joy of creating something. I never knew that the feeling of being able to communicate with the characters one wrote could be so wonderful.â
