Although Kirk had a cold expression on his face, he tried to restrain his emotions and look calm. when he looked at Michael.

At that moment, Sean knew Kirk had listened to his advice so that he wouldn’t put Michael under any pressure.

Sean sighed. As he was lost in thought, he heard Caroline’s painful sobs from the consultation room.

“N–No. I don’t want this! I want my mom and dad … I want my mom and dad!” After yelling, Caroline opened her eyes. Her entire body was trembling, and her chest was heaving.

When Kirk saw this, he couldn’t stay outside any longer. He rushed into the room and held Caroline’s sweat soaked Kirk’s expensive clothes, but all he could pay attention to was her.

“Darling, it’s okay. Everything is fine…” He patiently coaxed her like a child.

Seeing Kirk being gentle, Michael, who was shocked by Caroline’s actions, was frightened again. He looked at them in bewilderment, suspecting that something was wrong with his sight. He couldn’t believe Kirk had such a gentle side.

As both voices clashed in her head, Caroline held her aching head and weakly grabbed the hem of Kirk’s clothes.

After more than five minutes, she tearfully looked up at Kirk and said, “I’m fine now.” Her voice was extremely weak.

Kirk’s heart was crushed by what he heard. “Let’s go home, darling.” He slowly knelt down and helped Caroline put on her shoes.

But Caroline grabbed Kirk’s hand and looked up at Michael. “Dr. Caldwell, what on earth is wrong with me?”

Michael hesitated to answer. He dared not say anything without Kirk’s permission.
